Need efficient dryer, FL wahser recommendations
Comments (6)Thanks for the suggestion, but yes, my husband has cleaned out the hose, the entire length, and it wasn't clogged. I should have mentioned that the dryer took "forever" to dry from the very beginning. I wound up buying the GE profile WPRE6150KWT and dryer today. I couldn't find much info on it online, but I liked the simplicity, large loading capacity and energy efficiency of the washer. Funny, I was so set on a FL until I realized I'd have to keep the door open a couple of hours after a wash. That just wouldn't work with my W&D behone bifold doors in my powder room....See MoreMay need new dryer. Any recommendations pro or con?
Comments (5)Size (height, width and depth as the newer machines are all around bigger), gas or electric, door swing (from left or from right or downward), venting options (I recently moved my dryer -the new vent is 1'-and drying time fell by 50%), time and sensor drying, reverse tumble ...I would take the time to find out what the high, medium and low temperatures are-for awhile there manufacturers had marked the machines to show three temoeratures but really only had two....no "high" as this was their concession to conservation...some of the newer machines are cavernous and really can't dry small loads they just roll into a ball-you will only find that info from reading reviews from actual users. Unlike washers where there has been a lot of bad press re reliability for most manufacturers, dryers seem to be reliable but you need it to be reliable and to have the features you need....See MoreIs a $150-$200 blow dryer really better?
Comments (53)It's my understanding that the ionic technology breaks down the water molecules and so they evaporate faster. I can't use the tiny hair dryers-- because my hair is so fine, it blows around more than normal or thick hair and it gets stuck in the little ones unless I hold it out 3 feet! I lied above, my hair dryer is a John Frieda not a Conair (but it could very well be made by Conair). I need to clean it out regularly because hair and dust get stuck on the inside and outside mesh intake vents. It takes me an hour (45 min if I don't dawdle) to get from shower to out the door. Hair drying is a very short part of that. Even with styling, less than 15 min....See MoreNeed Compact W/D with Ventless Dryer - Recommendations?
Comments (4)The Bosch 500 has AquaShield The Bosch 800 has AquaPlus The Bosch 300 only has a reinforced hose Living on the 10th floor, leaks are of supreme concern. Does anyone know the difference between AquaShield and AquaPlus. I know that both of them claim to shut off the water automatically if they sense some kind of malfunction in terms of water levels or leaks but is the AquaPlus in the more expensive Bosch 800 better than the AquaShield in the Bosch 500? I don't see any other differentiation in specifications but all things being equal if the water leak protection is better in the Bosch 800, it is worth the extra $200 for that kind of peace of mind. Thanks....See MoreJoaniepoanie
