Nice cabs, but I don't think your site is anywhere near ready for cabinets. I can already see sheetrock and construction dust from handling on the tall cabs in the first two pics and I can't really tell what the floor is. Looks like it might be hardwood but on pics still looks like there's particleboard underlayment leftover form vinyl. Now , there's a dozen ways to sched. jobs and we've found that finished floors first is the best way 99.9% of the time. I've don't really have a problem if you want floors after install as long as the layers know no damage is acceptable that means NONE, no I'm sorry I had a bad day ,the sander slipped ect... Even when doing floors last we still insist on a clean jobsite and workplace - not just bad for safety it just looks bad and is harder to clean up the cabinets in the end.

I am not a fan of glazes personally over lighter colors. I think they can add some depth and texture over wood colored stains. We are in Austin Texas and I was talking to the cabinet supplier and he said they are getting less requests for glazes these days and since trends can take a while to reach us that makes me think they aren't all that popular anymore. If they are loosing popularity here then they have been our for a while everywhere else. This of course is just my opinion. I think a warm white or ivory is the way to go. Not a stark white. Make sure your trim doesn't clash if there is a lot near the cabinets. I've been asking and the BM colors that seem popular for cabinets are Dove White This has gray undertones Mascarpone This is slightly yellower and Simly White Our builder doesn't use BM but we will choose one of the 1st 2 I listed and have it matched. We are also doing wood floors. We had 2 options with our supplier for painted cabinets. One was a factory applied "paint" over MDF and the other was a painted on site over maple and that's what we chose. I like the imperfection of a painted finish. The factory finishes look off to me. Almost plastic or something. WE are doing a white granite because we can't get Marble but if we could that's what I would get. We are also doing our BS in a white subway in a herringbone pattern. Appliances will be SS. Good Luck Are you doing a custom build or remodel? If I was doing totally custom I would do cabinets with inset doors. I love them.

I'm doing a concealed microwave (when we can actually get a GC...different story for a different day). And for it, we are planning on a barrister style door opening (it is one door and it opens upward and retracts in at the top of the cabinet). I felt that I would prefer one cabinet door to open as opposed to two for the microwave. And then we are doing a concealed small appliance cabinet that will have two doors and open the way you are mentioning for your microwave, although that may change to a barrister style also depending on if I can get enough height to that cabinet. But you are correct that if the doors are full overlay, they will cover everything. It doesn't matter if the cabinet is framed or frameless. What you need to do is have the doors for that cabinet NOT be full overlay but instead you'll do a flush/inset/furniture style door for that cabinet. There is an alternative to the two things I mentioned above that allows you to have the door lift upwards and it holds open up that way - that option allows for a full overlay door since it doesn't need clearance to retract inside the cabinet...drawback to it is that it blocks any cabinet that is above it while you are using the microwave.
