This will be my final update. My Diamond W Coretek "Breckenridge" has been installed into my new home. I have not yet painted the walls or moved in, but I feel I can make a judgement on the floor. I am VERY happy with how it looks. It has a matte look to it (not glossy), which I like. With many fake floors, if the sunlight's glare shines on the floor, the glare often highlights fake-looking indentations that manufacturers put into the planks to make them look rustic. I hate that, and I am happy to report that when you look at these planks in the sun's glare, what I see is simply a grain pattern (no weird divots or anything like that) that I feel actually looks pretty real! While there are a lot of "knots," I really like how it looks and I do not feel that there are too many knots. This install job is not glued to the foundation (downstairs) or glued/screwed to the subfloor (upstairs). It is floating. Yet, when I walk on it, it feels very solid (as if it were glued down). There is a "quarter round" (or something like that, I forget the name), along the bottom of the normal baseboard. This extra baseboard piece is attached to the wall yet is not attached to the flooring. The flooring is then NOT installed all the way to the wall, but about 1/2" short of the wall. This extra baseboard piece covers this gap between the flooring's edge and the wall, and the gap allows the flooring to expand and contract without buckling or bubbling up. (Note that this extra piece has not yet been installed in the two photos shown below). As of now, without having lived on it yet, I couldn't be happier. My flooring guy turns out to be great, and he said he is a fan of this particular Diamond W product. He really had nothing negative to say about it. His only advice is that the floor can temporarily "buckle" or "bubble" in areas, most likely facing east or west, where you have a patio door with no overhang where the floor is exposed to daily periods of very hot direct sunlight. So, in those fairly rare cases, he recommends a window covering to diffuse the light/heat. On a side note, shame on Diamond W for having such a horrible website. I mean, seriously, shame on you. You give your customers one terrible photo of this product/color, and you expect us to be able to make a quality assessment? And, in your photo, you actually have a very poor install job shown with planks that are not properly staggered? There are some industries that simply need to experience a revolution of efficiency, and the flooring industry is one of them. Shaking my head... A final note: To anyone seriously considering this product, I highly recommend you simply buy an entire box of the stuff in the color you prefer for around $75 and lay it out yourself. I don't think any quality judgements can be made with just a sample from a flooring store. I was able to get a box delivered to me in less than one week.

Are your oak floors site-finished? I have floors in my house that haven’t been refinished in 20 years and we’re only then done due to a burst pipe. I have multiple dogs and grandchildren who have been here a lot over tho 20 years. Mine are white oak, site-finished with a “gym floor” high glass poly f8nish. Look as good today as they did when first done.

Not sure if you’ve already installed your floors but thought I’d give you my two cents worth. Hope you’re still considering your flooring choices. First, we just had about 1200 square feet of Happy Feet lvp installed in our home. Like the end of August. The only thing I like about it is the color! We have the stone elegance line in the Kona color. Our previous floors were tile and engineered hardwood. This new floor is very textured and that is something I’m trying to adjust to. It also feels like plastic and has a hollow sound if you tap your nails on it or have any sort of a heeled shoe on. The installation was okay but half the floor has been taken up and relayed twice. The installation was horrible. So that and the fact that I’m walking on plastic everyday has me hating this floor! For the price I wish we had shelled out an additional 3-4K and had engineered put back down. We had a major drainage issue and we had to jack hammer through the slab to replace corroded cast iron pipes. So, a tench through my house, with floors ripped out, cabinets ripped out and insurance was a joke. The LVP is on top of two rooms of remaining engineered flooring. The lvp in the other three rooms and foyer was laid in top of plywood that was nailed to the concrete slab. It sounds like I’m walking on plywood. The install directions clearly state floor must be leveled, the installers didn’t and I brought it up several times and was “assured” it would be fine. The installation instruction also mention flooring grade plywood. 3/8” flimsy plywood is not flooring grade. The plywood actually caused the floor to balloon up because it had been laid against the walls as well as the lvp. No 1/4” gap around the perimeter of the rooms. So the third time they came out, floors taken up and plywood pulled, new plywood installed with a smear on adhesive vs the liquid mails they originally used and then nailed back down. The floor still has areas that give way to much, creating a popping sound when you walk on them. One spot in my kitchen sounds like the squeaker from a dog toy is underneath the floor. The 2 yr old grandson loves to step there. Maybe if this floor had been laid properly I could get used to the plastic feel. It does clean easily. Old wood floors couldn’t be matched, so that’s why this was laid on top. Was cheaper than removing 🙄. The plywood was laid to make the floor level with old hardwood. I’d rather have plain concrete right now than this crap!

We got a call last Monday from our builder that we needed to come in a pick a new flooring that same day because the flooring that we had chosen over a year ago kept sliding the delivery date by 2 weeks for the last 4 months and they couldn't trust that the supplier would ever get any. I'm relieved to hear that you like it so well.
