What should I do on the floor of this gut renovations in the family room ? The brick fileplace is three sided which will be cleaned up. The room has a concrete floor. It’s the lower level in a split level some it’s not a bright room . I don’t want it to be dark or compete with the brick . All the paneling , carpet have been removed so we’re starting from scratch down to the studs We're putting in a heated floor panel. Do we tile the floor with a big ceramic/stone tile or wood looking tile? It can be vinyl if that's what I have to do. I Can’t decide . Any ideas?

This is a gas fireplace, will stay gas with slick flat enclosure.

completely gutted, fireplace closure is gone.

Bare concrete floor, paneling gone down to studs on the walls and ceiling.

Room before, with carpet and paneling on walls. very 50's that is a bar area in the background with a brick wall.
