Better Quality version of Pottery Barn Pierce sectional
Comments (4)Check out the Preston sectional from Room&Board. It is extremely comfortable and can be configured in many different ways. The standard fabric it comes in is not microfiber, but it can be ordered in any of the Room&Board fabrics and no extra charge (allow more time). Compared to Pierce sectional I believe it is better quality. You won't be disappointed. We bought ours last year and we are so happy with it we will be ordering it in sofa form for our gameroom. It is that comfy. Here is a link that might be useful: Room&Board website...See MoreRestoration Hardware or Pottery Barn vanity?
Comments (9)I purchased this Restoration Hardware 36" Hutton vanity and had it in a guest bathroom that was used mostly as a powder room on a fairly regular basis. The vanity was beautiful and the marble top was thick and gorgeous and honed instead of the typical polished. Unfortunately within a few months the doors warped even though we never showered in the room and maybe bathed in the tub once a week at most. Restoration Hardware was good about sending repair people and replacement doors, but even the replacement doors were warped. If I set the doors on a flat surface, they wouldn't lay flat. The repair people they sent (local companies) were frustratingly incompetent. The frame was constructed nicely but the doors were a big problem. For another bathroom we purchased this Water Creation Madison 60" vanity but we only used it for a few months before we sold the house. It seemed only slight less well constructed and was significantly less expensive than the 72" RH version. We could only fit a 60" so the RH option was out anyway. The marble was a nice solid piece and equally thick, but it was polished which I liked less. Overall I felt like the Restoration Hardware vanity was only slightly better quality than the Water Creation vanity. When I've looked at Pottery Barn vanities in the stores, I have been less impressed with their marble tops which seemed to be thin. Hope that helps some....See MoreOpinions on Pottery Barn Big Sur sofa
Comments (188)I've owned several PB couches and I 'almost' bought the Carmel with chaise which is basicaly a slighter version of Big Sur which I also considered. Nope, I'm not risking it. I'm on the verge of ordering a Dream Sofa. The cushions have a three year replacement warranty. There are enough reviews on Reddit and here for me to feel comfortable. We know the depth and firmness we like and they offer multiple types of cushion densities. Their site doesn't' have many 'real' pictures but I spoke personally with a rep who sent me customer picks of the model I was interested in and I am super impressed. They are also sending me samples of their entire line of fabrics in the color range I'm interested in for free. The two performance samples I've tested were easy to clean and attractive. The price for my choices is less than PB w/premium fabric....See MorePottery Barn Jake Sofa vs. Crate & Barrel Gather Petite Wood Base
Comments (33)We bought the C&B Gather sofa plus ottomon in leather last year.. It is the standard depth sofa and we were not able to sit in that poarticular sofa prior to ordining it. We ran into the typical delays due to supply chain issues (7 months). When it was delivered, the delivery guys dropped the sofa in the street and damaged the leather. C&B ordered a replacement (another three months). Both of us hate this sofa! It is very uncomforatable. I am 5'11" and it is too deep to comfortably site upright. The back cushions are not fastened to the sofa in any way so they are constantly slidding down. Even when pushed back, the do not provide good back support. I cannot sit in this sofa more than an hour or so before I get a backache. I wanted a sofa/ottomon combination rather than buying a sectional for the verstility so it really limited my selection of sofas. This was a big mistake. On tiop of that, dealing with C&B sales, customer support and their finance company was a real nightmare that I will never go through again....See MoreAllison Moreman
