And finally, here they are all repotted. I forgot to mention the wondrous odour that wafted from the box as I opened it. Most of the blooms had the very sweet, traditional rose fragrance--Gregg Lowery was a bit deeper and sharper, and not quite so strong. After this picture, I did the responsible thing and dis-bloomed and budded the roses--its more important to have strong plants for blooms next year I suppose. On the other hand, of the order I got 3 weeks ago, I have let a few buds develop on them, I guess because they have had longer to adjust to our climate and might be a bit stronger with some added root growth. Or maybe because I just want a sneak peek at them too.

Look at Thirstons fourth picture. You can see the supports, in the back, and the rack, sitting on the horizontal support in front. Slightly higher than that shelf resting on that support, she runs a wire around the whole outer part of the rack, about 2 inchs or so above where that whole shelf is. That wire works as an 'edge' to keep things from being pushed off in the back or the sides, and does help to provide some structural strength. You can also email her, and ask her about it. At the top of this picture, you can see the plastic peices that the metal rods slide into. It works just like tinker toy construction, so none of it is super sturdy. As things age, and get more play within the linkages... things tend to sway more.

Yep! Well, a different ebay find. I think I noticed that the Dark Kiss variety seems to have more white in general so I decided to search that specific type to see if they all look like that. And lo, I found this guy :) It has a great rootbase and none of the leaves got damaged in transit, although the poor baby fell out of the pot so I decided just to put it in the pot I had picked for it. Thanks for the advice on the the girl-leaf! I was afraid the pictures were too dark to see the leaves but I'm glad to hear they're not! I actually did what you suggested on instinct lol. I put some more dirt in around the roots just so they were covered and the plant was more stable, and I'm going to just let it sit on the windowsill with the others. Since it's so tiny, it gets plenty of shade from the shady sill plus the other plants. Good to know they grow slowly. I didn't know what to expect with this one. I've never had a miniature before! Oh also, I repotted the Trinidad II. It's root ball was much smaller than I remember (I think I miscalculated its size because of how long its leaves were) and so I repotted it in another, slightly smaller pot. It seems to be perking up, which I'm happy about :)
