Hi! I was searching for ceiling clip-on shades and ran into your post. (I'm tring to put a shade on a comnpact fluorescent near the ceiling.) Since you say you can use a shade that would work for a candelabra bulb, there seem to be lots of choices. These lamps were often designed to be used on a desk where the seating height is considerably higher. A lamp next to a couch needs a tall shade.

I'm back from the shade store and yes, friends, I've gone completely overboard!! I have yet another shade to consider. This time I brought home several shades to find the right color. Now, I think I have the right color, but the shape is new, believe it or not!! It's a little difficult to describe. Basically it's a rectangle with a bell shape. The shorter sides flare out in a soft curve. I have 4 pics to share, in order to hopefully show the true shape of the shade.
