Im looking for something more simple. No extra wall art. I am more interested as to how i can style the console table. I am not 100% sold on the current white vases. Unless i do a dark color wall

The dark wall is going to close in an already tight space. Also, it is a gracious thing to have art in an entry to a home - which is where your tv is located. Art over the tv is a viable option. Walking into a tv and dark wall is not particularly gracious. The vases are irrelevant, basically. It is your space, though, and for sure do what you want.

I am not sure if anybody is still following up with this post. But i got my sectional done, well sort of. Turns out the black fabric underneath cushions stains so I need to get that taken care of. See pics below, cushions have not been set up to protect from staining. My dilemma right now is deciding if i should go with brushed nickel or matte black lighting for both dining & living room since its an open space. I purchased brushed nickel knobs and pulls that will be installed next weekend. Stay posted!!

Also, i did start changing some of the door knobs into a matte black but I am not 💯 sold on them yet. Any thoughts??

I think that brushed nickel is starting to look a little outdated (though I put it allll throughout my house). If that matters to you, maybe try the black. I think the style of what you get matters as much as the material, so the final choice may depend on what style you pick

Try moving the sofa over about a foot on the wall side and toward the door frame and forward a foot on the window side, enough to place a large plant in the corner. That would add a lot of interest and airiness to that side of the room.

Normally, I don't like accent walls, but I do think an accent wall in this case would make your sideboard stand out and make the big screen disappear.

Not sure why styling your sideboard is more important than adding beautiful art, but the wall over the sofa would be a great place for an art work.

Try the kitchen island color. If the accent wall doesn't look right, get some primer, original wall paint, and paint it back to match the walls.

If you're keeping the one you have, lower it about a foot. I really like the second chandelier. I had purchased a similar one but due to my vaulted ceiling it didn’t work out in that style. I was looking into the one below. I Really love the gold color but i dont think it would work with my color scheme. Maybe brushed nickel or black?

As far as accent wall do you think doing the board and batten would be too much since my tv console already has a geometric design?

Use the same finish throughout if possible.

As suggested try painting the accent wall first to see if having it works. If you like it, then the do the board and batten. It's a small wall, so paint may work out better.

I think so too. I just would like to make it a wow factor since it’s the first thing you see as you come in.

I think if you flip your sectional so it faces the window it would create a living area/TV zone and separate it from the cooking/eating area and naturally divide this long space. Half of it now is on a wall that has two windows, front door and closet while the other half is on a long vaulted ceiling wall with only one door. It does not feel balanced. It is a pretty piece (a wow factor) and deserves to be front and center. You could consider painting your entertainment center the "grey" of the island rather than treat the whole wall. The black version of the chandelier you like would have more impact in your vaulted ceiling space.

I really like that!! I was already thinking of adding 2 accent chairs for separation but i like the idea of having the sectional there instead. I will move around furniture and see what works best.

The reason why I wanted to do a chandelier in the dining room is bc I want to keep it simple. I plan on hanging a round mirror on the wall and let the chandelier be the wow factor. The chairs will eventually get replaced to potentially slipcover parson chairs in white.

Today’s update. I had my father help me ha v the curtains in the dining room. Tomorrow we will do the living room in the same color and style. What y’all think??

Let’s see the curtain photos :). Your space is coming together nicely. Hope you are able to enjoy the process! Here’s a thought for you - was the rug chosen specifically for the dining room? If so, then ignore this and carry on. If not, you might try it in your living area. It seems to me that you might find the aisle between the dining chairs and island going toward the sliding glass door to be more functional without a rug.

Sorry i forgot to attach it yesterday. The rug is not intended for any spaces in my house. I borrowed from someone to prevent further damage to the floors due to the chairs scratching the floor. I do plan to replace with a much smaller rug. Not sure on color yet

I bet you’re glad to finally have a couch :). I think your sectional can be placed either way. You might just live with it for a few weeks facing one way and a few weeks with it the other way and see what appeals to you. Look for a round coffee table. Do you like the wood one that housegal posted above? What style or feel are you going for? Are there any colors that you’d like to incorporate?

I like the sectional with its back towards the dining room, facing the front window and the tv. That gives a sense of definition to the space. Try the dining room rug in the living are for size and color. (Place the rug under the front feet of the sectional. A suggestion for hanging your draperies... Place the first loop/grommet/hole of the draperies on the outside of the brackets, closest to the finial of your rod on either side, so that the panels are held in position. (I hope this makes sense!).

@ginatay i do like that coffee table just not in wood. I was looking into a similar from Cb2 in either an ivory or grey color. I am to sure which one would be best since i do think my color scheme went a little left. Originally i wanted to black, white and different shades of grey. I love RH look. Simple but elegant

@ptreckle the dining room rug is gone. I sold it. It was temporary there to protect the floor from the chairs since it was leaving scratch marks. Now i am on the market for rugs for both places. I just don’t really know what to do for color. I feel that there’s a lot of white but i dont want to much of a dark color either

I like it facing the window also, I can easily picture a floor lamp and a rectangular piece of art fitting nicely above the sofa and if I try to picture that arrangement with the sofa against the window it gets more unbalanced looking. I agree that it adds definition as well. I can also see light from the window on the wall above the sofa when it's facing the window and not so much when the sofa is in front of the window. Instead of two chairs, I think one would fit better and have some room to breathe.

Yes there’s definitely a difference in lighting when placed across window. I agree I cannot do 2 chairs, the sectional is too small to fit 2. I was thinking of doing a side table. That’s exactly why i am leaving some space at the end of the sectional for both positions

So part of the appeal of RH style for me is they incorporate rustic, organic, industrial, or antique elements into a space that is mostly monochromatic but full of textures. Some characteristics of their style are oversized pieces, as large as the space allows. Large artwork over the sofa, often in black or white or an abstract. The largest rug the living room can hold. Statement light fixtures in every room. Natural fibers and neutral tones. Decorative elements that are large but fewer of them on display, often incorporating wood or metal. What about something like this for a coffee table?

And for styling your media console, what about something oversized, long, and low :

So for the media table just do a large plant arrangement? I like the coffee table but something more affordable. Honestly i can even consider the drum shaped from an earlier comment. But i am sure if a muted or dark color would work.

I am sure if anyone is still following this post. I have some updates on the project. Not fully done but would like to hear your thoughts on the updates. I am also open to any suggestions. As a matter of fact, I need help deciding if i should go with only one accent chair cornered or 2 facing the opposite side of the sectional. Thoughts???

Yes and there’s a huge gap so i think i am going to go with 2 chairs. I will assemble it and post some pictures tomorrow.

Here’s an update on the chairs. I am having a hard time finding a soothing minimal wall art and more pillows. Any suggestions??
