Ideas on how to best utilize this space
Comments (7)Great space - love the brick feature wall! I assume you plan to use it as your family/living space. Depending on the look you are going for, I might consider adding a nice slab of natural wood counter against the brick wall, below the arch opening with some swivel stools. It may help tie in the kitchen to the sitting area, rather than having guests/family sitting with their back to the kitchen -while you're prepping. Then use the back wall for leather furniture placement, similar to the furniture used in the staging. I like the lived in leather look, just like they have. Keep the TV where it is in photos, maybe add a piece like this for that spot. It's a modular system so you can customize to your space and TV, size, personal preferences, etc.. And maybe match the counter wood to the wood used in the furniture. I don't know why, (maybe it's the brick and masculine "lofty" vibe) but I also feel an animal print would look just awesome in the space. Maybe something like these for your counter stools could be a fun pop!...See MoreHelp! How to best utilize space above sink/toilet in small bathroom?
Comments (8)Thanks for all the replies. J Design - the ceiling is 8 feet high. To the left of the photo (unpictured), there will be a new 60x30x18 tub. The back wall, pictured, is 80" including where the tub is. That leaves 50" and realistically 48" to play with if I space the edge of the sink at least 2 inches away from the tub. After looking more closely, I'll need a pedestal sink narrower than 22", the sink pictured is 19" and the tub now is 29" on the most outer part. ACM, I think unfortunately, having even a small vanity would seriously crowd the tub, or vice versa. We hope to put a partial glass enclosure but need to think about if we can hinge it at a place that still gives us room to exit the shower near the sink. Does this all make sense?...See MoreHow to utilize this space (linen closet)
Comments (5)Think about how you live and what you will realistically do as the years go on. Do you really want to stand in a narrow hallway folding the laundry? I sure wouldn't. Especially as you get older you won't. You'll prefer bringing the laundry somewhere you can sit down and do it. Why not keep the laundry closet a laundry closet, which every home really needs. Unless you don't do the laundry at all, and have paid domestic help and will for the rest of your life, in which case my concern isn't relevant....See MoreHelp with how to best utilize / decorate unused space .
