Quartz Counter top resurface?

J G

We hire a contractor to remodel the kitchen. When they placed the title back splash, a section of the quartz counter top got damaged. It looks like somebody wiped it down with a wet cloth and left smears. It shows in the sunlight. We pointed it out to the contractor and he used acetone and a rag to buff it out. While it was wet it seemed to look better. After it dryed, there is a film with what looks like permanent smear marks. The contractor will not return phone calls. The counter top always looks like it is not clean. Can any one recommend a product\process to restore the polished clean look of quartz? Thanks!
