Comments (54)"do you measure countertop to countertop or cabinet base to base?" Aisles should always be measured to/from the items that stick out in the aisle the farthest -- appliance handles, counter edges, etc. If you look at what I drew up, you will see there is a 1.5" counter overhang in front of the perimeter and peninsula cabinets as well as on all sides of the island (except the right side since you did not show a cabinet there, just 6" of space). . "The 28 would be 36" "if you measure the distance between the tops it is 44.5 for the 46 and 34.5 for the 28." But it doesn't add up that way when you put in the cabinet sizes you say you have. The 28" aisle: 30" + 32" + 39.875" + 12" = 113.875" 113.875" - 36" aisle to the left of the island - 48" island - 1.5" for counter overhang on the peninsula = 28.375" (28-3/8") for the aisle b/w the peninsula and the island. The 46" aisle: Assuming the depth of the Kitchen is 165": Peninsula is 36" corner sink base + 14.5" + 24" + 14.5" = 90.5" Top run of counters across from peninsula is 25.5" deep (24" deep cabinets + 1.5" counter overhang) 165" - 90.5" - 25.5" = 49" for the aisle b/w the peninsula and the sink base. . I don't mean to be difficult, but inches matter, especially since you do not want to eliminate the wall oven and replace it with a range. There isn't room b/w the wall ovens and the corner for a range and have the sink on the peninsula. . All that said, it doesn't really matter because you are constrained by the fact that the flooring does not go under the cabinets -- so you cannot expand any aisles, even if you wanted to (unless the flooring does go under the peninsula......) ....See MoreKitchen remodeling advice
Comments (3)If you are set w your floor decision I’d go ahead and do it. It looks like it would work w the rich cabs you have now. How about leaving cabs as is and swap a few upper doors for glass doored fronts. Then paint the walls more a cooler shade bisque or light greige. the counters aren’t shown close up... can you provide an image? The name sounds warm counter tone but name isn’t always truthful ....See MoreKitchen remodel advice, small split level, knocking down walls
Comments (14)Not sure about your concern regarding the fridge next to the sliding door. The photos of the actual space look like there's about 3 feet between the door and the current counter. If you are swapping the fridge and stove locations, it looks like you would still have a few feet of counter to the right of the fridge before you get to the door - so no, that would not bother me. But the rendering makes the space look smaller than the photos do so I'm not sure if you're moving things farther to the right or not. An idea for the pantry and banquette in the dining room, perhaps you could put in a shallower than normal pantry in the corner and incorporate the bench seating into the cabinetry - possibly including a little more on the other side for symmetry if that is important to you. Not sure if that would be actually functional, but it's an idea to play around with....See MoreKitchen remodel advice. Will these materials go well together?
Comments (11)yes the tiles are for the floor. I cannot change the tiles they are already delivered. I realized the problem with tiles and quartzite choice after i purchased these tiles. I had no idea it would be so hard to find something that does not fight with the pattern fo the tile. I have my mind set on quartzite for my stone and this stone comes with very limited options. Majority of them are very warm or less warm tones. Infinity white seems the least conflicting one. the cabinet is white high gloss and tiles are polished as well....See MoreKathy Holguin
