Flooring Home Decorating Design Dilemma

which LVP floor Coretec or Cali ?

Hello everyone I’ve decided to get LVP because I am tried of refinishing my hardwood floor every couple of years. I have two that I like but can’t decide.
*Coretec Manila Oak
Heard it’s the best I love the reviews and look of it. The only issue is my hardwood floors will have to be removed so it won’t sit on top of other flooring. My concern is would it be a mistake to remove the real hardwood floors and I’ll get less money when I go to sell?

Again this color would work seems to be good and a few bad reviews. Plus side I can put them right over my floors. They are slightly less expensive.
Looking for durability, and one that will look beautiful and take a lot of traffic.

We installed 2600 sf of Happy Feet Pinnacle LVP in our new build and am very happy with it. i had read through this group many times prior but decided with grown kids it was more important to us to have a matte look and low maintenance than risk wearing out our socks. I definitely prefer the feel of natural wood under bare feet but this LVP is not wearing out our socks or our bare feet. So far it feels like a great decision. interesting anecdotal observation - when in our old house, which had hardwood throughout, when we laid out various LVP samples and left them there for a week, our dog stated laying on the Happy Feet sample section. Never the other samples. 🤔

Which Coretec flooring best complements red birch cabinets?

What did you choose? I am also trying to match red oak trim in my familyroom to my kitchen floors. I didn't want to introduce another color or tone of wood. I'm leaning on Manila Oak, waddington and maybe Cairo but I don't think Cairo has enough golden or reddish hues.

I understand you're concerned about how this is going to look over a large area and you have a good point. A lot of LVP ends up looking stripey. Have you chosen your kitchen cabinets yet? If you're keeping your furniture in the livingroom, how do the samples look with it? Are you replacing carpet? If you already have wood in the livingroom the recommendation is to continue the wood into the kitchen. A manmade product is never going to look as good as the real thing.

I have Coretec. There are many choices of light wood planks. They are easy to care for, easy on your joints, no scratches from animals or dragging furniture.

That said, in most locations hardwood is the most desired. My home is in Florida and the decision was made for me. As much as we wanted hardwood, it was not practical in this home.

Where are you located? Are you seeing luxury vinyl in homes where you are?

Are you planning on selling in the near future?

OK...when you lay these you MUST remove the hardwood. Or you MUST remove the finish. Vinyl cannot sit on FINISHED hardwood floors. The polyurethane and the vinyl have a chemical reaction and that will ruin BOTH floors (vinyl and hardwood). It isn't pretty.

My question becomes, why on earth do you need to 'refinish' your floors every 2-5 years??? That's not normally how this works. A HIGH END polyurethane (water based 2 part like Bona Traffic HD or Loba 2K Supra At) will offer 25+ years of service. If you get three coats applied when the wood is FIRST refinished then you can look forward to 30 years.

I know a 'buff and coat' can occur around year 15....but every 2-5 years is WEIRD. Can you please explain what the heck is happening to your floors?
