Wood cabinet and white countertop?

My kitchen currently has wood cabinets (maple?) and brownish countertop. I really don’t like the countertop and wanted to see how a lighter color countertop will look so I tried using contact paper to cover it. It’s been a couple months and I think I’m ready to actually replace my countertop.

I wanted to go for a more modern look with white cabinets but did some research and did not want to replace my cabinets or go through the trouble of repainting so I am trying to see if I can make the best out of wood cabinets and white countertop.

Opinions wanted

What do you guys think about wood cabinets and white countertop? Are they a good combo? Any good examples (I found some picture on Houzz and Pinterest)
Which Quartz countertop would go better with my cabinets? Calacatta Arno or Fairy White? I want it white but with some subtle pattern/veins. Other suggestions are welcomed too!
Any suggestions on cheap/easy way to uplift my cabinets without replacing or repainting?

Also looking for other suggestions that would improve this kitchen too! Lights? Tiles?

White and light wood is beautiful and airy. I think it will look great. One thing you can do with the cabinets is change the hardware. Pulls make a stronger statement than knobs, and you could try a different color too.

Also, the width is 14 feet. The markers for three feet on each side of the exterior wall were meant to mark the non-window/upper cabinets here width. So that makes roughly 8 feet in the center for windows. I have a large-ish pantry to the bottom right you can't see in the screenshot.

Thank you again. I am thinking more darker or intense color which would be more cooler. I would definitely get couple of samples to see how they will look with my counter. I think I m actually going to go with the cream/white dove cabinets and charcoal grey island with white/Creme backsplash. In the end if we decide that we have a budget to do something with the floors, which tone of wood flooring or wood like tiles will go with this color choice ??? I personally like dark grey oak floors but right next to kitchen is living and foyer with light bamboo floors!!!!

Adding under cabinet lighting, removing the fluorescent light fixture and installing a tile backsplash - along with a new countertop - would help freshen up your kitchen. When you replace your countertops, don’t have them install the 4” extension piece along the wall. Changing your hardware would also be a great idea.

I love the Callacutta Arno. It will look very nice on your light wood cabinets. I am also happy, you are not painting them. I agree on under cabinet lighting, and a nice backsplash. I would also like to see a colorful mat in front of your sink area.
