Thanks once again for your votes. This piece will go on a wall opposite the wall I photographed that I'm in the process of decorating. The wall is a blank canvas where I'll be placing the sideboard/buffet. It's bee left that way till I get the furniture piece in place. kswl, I have 7 chairs for this 60" round table and won't be purchasing anymore. The table is a fixed size as well. There will be draperies in the room too. I just haven't found what I'm looking for. Might be a LONG time till I get them since I'm clueless as to what I'm looking for (g) Maybe a deep plum. Not sure if you noticed but the chair backs are fabric covered. Does that count? :) As for the pullouts, they might get used 2-3 times a year and when not in use, are hidden. newyorkone, the table and chairs are from Ashley Furniture. Rowley Creek is the style. I upgraded the chairs from wooden seats and ladder backs to the leather seats and fabric backed chairs. cooperbailey, HAHAHA!! ideefixe, "massive" is what I'm trying to avoid :o My dear DH wants to buy me a HUGE buffet/china cabinet and can't understand why I don't want one. This sideboard is 60" wide and 22" deep. I wouldn't mind going a tad smaller but I really do like the last sideboard I posted. I'm going to have to purchase this on line and that has me a little spooked. None of the Dallas area stores that carry this brand have Villa Veneto line. Do I "need" the storage or service or both? I've done without it for 26 years but I would like to have it and WILL make good use of it. lynninnewmexico, if I don't go with the sideboard version of #8, then #8 will be my next choice. In my head I "see" the sideboard version (with legs) not taking up as room and looking more open. Monica

One thing though - I'd put the buffet on the other wall, on the other long side of the table since there wouldn't be enough room behind the end of the table. The light fixtures are nice too and I especially like the first one! @Elizabeth Minish, we recently moved into a new home from a much smaller place so there are a few spaces that I am furnishing and decorating. The house was new construction, but we did not select the paint colors. I probably wouldn't have chosen Moth Wing for the dining room, although I don't dislike it. Other colors on the first floor are Accessible Beige in the great room/living room, Nonchalant White in the kitchen/family room (considering replacing with Sea Salt), Sedate Gray in the office, Comfort Gray in the 1st floor guest room, and Sagey in the powder room and other bathrooms (all Sherwin Williams). (I wish I knew how to make one of those floor plans that shows which color each room is painted!) I tend to like neutrals and darker wood for large furniture items and like blues and greens for accent colors. Despite the rising popularity of brass, I lean towards brushed nickel, silver, chrome, etc. I do like oil rubbed bronze and black for fixtures as well though.

so you don't have to do grey tones. in the dining table picture there are warmer wood tones. if you did something closer to those tone, it would add more interest. Also it would pop/make the grey pop. it will still have flow. some examples below

With the darker floor, you may want to warm up everything in the dining room. You might start by staining the chair legs a warmer color. Change the cool gray rug to one in warmer tones like your wall color. We can't see the sideboard/bar cart you referenced. It may be a matter of what you can get your hands on unless you're willing to shop second hand &/or paint said items.
