Comments (9)In order to brighten things up, look at the off whites. They look like colors on the little sample cards, but when painted on the wall, often look more like a pale color than a white. I'd go all the way up to the lightest colors. I really don't see how you can go wrong, your choices so far are so neutral. I think you could go warmer, or cooler, and it would make sense. In order to brighten up the space, I would do these things: -think about shiny, beefy drawer pulls/knobs, like polished nickel -think about maybe glass subway tile (or other pattern), or even a metallic tile. Something that reflects light. -make sure your lighting is excellent in every regard: overhead, undercabinet, pendant work lights. That will really help....See MoreHelp with kitchen paint with dark gray cabinets
Comments (11)hawk, she couldn't care less. she does have a valid point. besides the fact that OP is asking for color help, being a pro she should know that posting a picture is needed when deciding on paint colors in someones home. just merely asking if Sea Salt goes with 'dark gray' is ridiculous. Dark Gray can mean 500 different colors. how do we know if we can't see it? And what else goes w/it? flooring, countertop, furnishings, lighting, all play a role. however, with these dark gray colors, sea salt seems to work sophie, I'm going to say that OP isn't a pro working in design. if she was, she would know that it's Sherwin and not Sheraton (unless it's a typo)...See MoreHelp Please! Comments (7)Floorplan is helpful, but we also need to know how wide your aisles are currently (they look tight around the island?). Here's a quick idea (may not be feasible depending on aisle width) - it might look a little odd to leave that arch hanging but it would give you seating and remove the current barrier island. With the new opening to the LR, you could possibly close off that doorway next to the fridge (where does it go?) and/or partially close the opening between kitchen and breakfast (could be used for pantry space, etc. if necessary). I squared off the angled pantry but I was guessing at the measurements. You could leave the angle as-is with this layout, but the overall appliance arrangement can probably be improved by eliminating that angle (depending on those exact measurements). Or a similar idea with an island instead of peninsula, with the sink and DW moved to the perimeter:...See MoreRelated Professionals
