Oh my! I hate those dreams where you dream you wake up and then you haven't.

Yikes!

Not a good dream! The other day I had a dream an old friend talked me into taking an old slave ship to Africa! Wth? Lol. It had a spa on board but was kind of sketchy because I was worried we would never make it to land safely. One minute I was in the spa, next minute I'm down by the water on a large ski like thing and someone is telling us to watch out for crocodiles. That's when I woke up. I tried to fall back to sleep so I could finish the dream but never could.

That scares me just reading it!

Do you think you might have inadvertently had the sheet or blanket over you face, and in your dream it became your mask?

Dreams can be weird, a few nights ago I dreamed that I was walking down the street and slipped up on ice where my feet went up into the air. In real time my body lurched in the bed and my 2 arms reacted to catch myself from hitting the ground. One arm hit the bed side table and knocked the tv remote on the floor. The sound of the impact woke me up and VgQn was awakened by the commotion. She asked me if everything was ok. I just groaned and rolled over.

Now I know that vgkg means Virginia King - I had not thought about that before.

I often have scary dreams but not so much lately, but I do not remember dreaming about being somewhere in a crowd where no one was wearing a mask, and even I had forgotten to wear mine at first but did put it on. I was in line to buy movie tickets, and the line was very long and inside a building like a mall. When I got to the ticket counter to buy the tickets, I learned that the movie I wanted to see would be showing the next day, and so I was going to have to come back to the theater. In reality, I have not been to a movie during the pandemic.

I also frequently have the dreams in which I dream that I wake up, and those are the most disturbing to me. During one of these dreams, I had the idea to pinch myself to see whether I was really asleep, and when I pinched myself in the dream, it hurt, which made me even more convinced that I was awake when I was not.

I had disturbing dreams every night for a few weeks a couple of months ago, but they seem to have stopped, for no apparent reason, but possibly because I have had my first vaccine shot and am feeling less anxiety than I was before. I get my second vaccine shot next week.

That is funny, Donna. My sister's cat does that verrrrry early in the morning. He's gotten a little more aggressive about it and accidentally scratched her cornea. Yeah, she's putting a stop to it.

Sjerin, apparently Bruno can tell time. Just before my alarm goes off, he jumps onto my nightstand and reaches out and taps my face. Of course I've started a bad habit by giving him a treat then.

Donna...you have a very vivid imagination. In the trunk of a car? That would scare me. I would have awakened with a start......and startled Bruno! ☺ Luckily I usually don't remember my dreams.

I do occasionally turn over in the middle of the night and Aspen/the cat, likes sleeping next to my head on my pillow. If awakened.....he'll go sleep at the foot of the bed.♥

Wow - that was a weird scary dream donna!

I was just thinking about a dream I had years ago where I was driving home, only a few blocks to go, and the car windshield had curtains which were closed and I couldn't open them, and the car was speeding up - an 'out-of-control' dream.

It came back to me today when I was putting up the sunshade so my car wouldn't get hot. I often think maybe that's what triggered the dream in the first place.

I think it's good to examine the emotions of dreams, rather than just the imagery. The emotions can give you more insight as to what it's about, IMO.
