Front door color for brick house

Hi! I need help with choosing a front door color for our house. We are getting new windows and a front door. Windows are white. Looking for advice on a color or wood stain that would look ok with our brick color.

I quite like the black door and the porch floor matching the brick. It's classic, simple, elegant and matches the style of the house in my opinion. If you want to add more vivid stuff, I'd go for big pots of tropical annuals like cannas or something and put them a little ways away from the house. I'd keep the pots very understated - simple square pots in a darker color, rather than anything too ornate. Actually if it was my house, I'd probably would keep the plantings at the front of the house fairly subdued and classic and save the showy, colorful stuff for the backyard. But it sounds like you're 'itchin' to go wild....:- )

I'd be tempted to take off all the shutters, since they're way too small for your wide windows. Second choice black, although the current white isn't bad. Frond door I'd go with a cheery color that contrasts with the brick, especially to come out from under the new roof -- a bright medium blue, say.

There are many more different coleus, there are companies that just specialize in coleus, would you believe it? https://rosydawngardens.com/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIzIPai7ur9QIVzRXUAR2QwwYWEAAYAiAAEgL6D_D_BwE And they are so, so easy to propagate, Just cut off at a slant a quarter inch below a node and stick in water and the roots grow, and change the water frequently until that happens. Or if you have rooting powder, dust the end with rooting powder and stick it directly in not-too tightly packed soil. Have one grouping of leaves above the cut end (you need some leaves for photosynthesis) but not too many leaves or all the energy goes to the leaves and it won't make roots. Keep in the light, but not too bright or too hot. You can find lots of directions on line. Your house would also look nice with window boxes, as do many houses. Don't be shy about asking people for cuttings, like many plants, they get bushier when they are trimmed properly, so you are actually doing them a favor!

I was going to suggest black but I love the charcoal gray Beverly suggested. Paint the storm door the same color. Gives a better look

Thank you. Would it look okay if kept garage door white and no shutters at this time and have only the front door a color like one of the colors above. I would like to stay away from black/dark and give it some color but not bright like yellow. Thanks you all so much I do not have eye or talent for this 😊

I would paint the garage door in a very similar tone to the finish already surrounding it. That way all attention would be focus on the front door. And personally I would definitely lose the faux shutters.

I wouldn’t choose to highlight the garage doors at all. It detracts attention from the front door.

I think the style of door is as important (or more so) than the color, as it has such a big influence/curb appeal factor. Don’t forget great hardware.

Given the brick and color of roof, these shades would be nice

We are also getting a retractable storm door - we should get that in the same color as the door, correct?

The house tells a better story when the accents on the house match. I don't like the appearance of a garage door that matches your brick when there is no brick around your garage door.

Rethink the retractable storm door. What happens when the door is retracted and a stranger comes to your door and rings the bell? If you open the door there is NOTHING between you and the stranger!!!!!! No protection.

Thank you! The retractable is just the top part and the window pulls down with a screen attached and locks from the inside so all good. You are right that does not look good. Uggh.

I suggest you paint the garage door near in tone to the surrounding stucco.
