What gorgeous rooms--no wonder I'm so smitten with warm grays! These colors go beautifully together--they're classic, in clothing fashion also: taupes grays--light, medium and charcoal creams beiges tans (browns in general) black white silver gold (all metallics) and the list goes on! Mix in some texture, pattern and sparkle, old and new pieces. Accent colors: Brights that I like with this neutral color scheme are pinks and fuschias, yellows and golds, limey greens (see above!) and/or purples/lavenders. Get the basics established (flooring, wall color, large furniture pieces) and have fun playing with the rest!

New construction, south facing (picture is of rear of home, N facing). Can't decide on colors. Was originally going with Amazing grey exterior (stucco), and worldly grey interior main color with Anonymous on a few contrast walls. Windows came back and they are browner than anticipated (color card at window place was a lot darker, almost black). Now afraid our greyish exterior color will clash with the brown window... Would like to stick with a grey/greige color palette, but not sure which undertone will go best. Amazing grey has the green undertone..looks like balanced beige is more brown...don't want the house to look too brown...lots of brown houses around here :-) Anew grey seems purple? the front we're using some stone accents as well. Not a lot, just a little on the garage and entry. I've attached a pic sample of that also. roof will be black For the interior, really liked the worldly grey, but the anonymous, in the "wrong" light looks so army green, considering switching to an agreeable grey/warmstone pair instead. I would paint the walls a slightly warm white, and focus on lighting and decor. Would probably bring in a chandelier on a dimmer or more updated fan. I'd leave all the wood, as is, Maybe remove some doors from built ins, and display art glass, and/or pottery, etc. (You can save doors, in case you want to put them back on. :)) If you are going to use a tv in the space, you could possibly do something like this with tv placement, as well - and put sofa facing fireplace, with sofa table behind it; or you could place furniture as they've done here - which is same as current furniture placement in your space, except I would switch places with sofa and chairs - have sofa facing windows, with sofa table to anchor it, since sofa is floating (Feng Shui thing). You could also use an angling extension arm on tv, if you need to adjust for viewing angles, etc. I would also either remove mantle from stone completely - or do a much longer mantle, in black. You have posted before with pretty much the same dilemma. What did you decide for the trim? Your choices aren't working because of the natural light influence. You can't just pick a color from a sample and put it on the walls. And, no paintcolor is neutral because of the undertones. Classic gray has a fairly high LRV, making it an off white. However, the wrong natural light will make it appear pink/purple. That undertone will not work with the fireplace tile. The room doesn't look very bright and the dominant light is coming in the three windows and glass door. Consider this color instead of CG: I think it will work well with the fireplace. Try a sample by the fireplace and by the window trim. You may find you like the woodwork as is. If it is a go add a bit of this color into the scheme. I know monitors are very fickle with colors, but I think this rug is a winner with the tile and Natural Choice.
