Thank u for the help! I thought so too but have no idea how to make a hole in that pot as it's made of cement. The only way is to drill :) Is it possible to do it now when the plan has been in the pot for some weeks? Or am I going to disturb it too much so it will die? I also thought about removing some soil and replace it with new dry soil of the same type. There are some new big leaves opening now. Alex

Basically, the leaves droop to prevent leaf-burn. More water negates the danger to the leaf. Banana leaves are broad, light collecting tools of the plant. During the brightest, strongest of daylight hours, the sun provides more than the plant can handle. To balance out the transpiration rate of the plant (water evaporation through the leaves), the leaves droop, exposing less surface area to the sun. When supplied enough water, the plant can handle excess transpiration and has no reason to go into defense mode (aka droopy leaves). Mike

It does look like an over watering problem. But also, Kentia Palms are single trunked plants so you have a number of them crowded into that pot. Most likely they were originally all planted together as seed and and the weaker ones are dying off. When water drains out of the pot do you remove it or does the bottom of the pot sit in water? I can't see any other reason why you'd get those marks on the leaves.

Hi there, I’m worried about my kentia palm:( he is constantly getting brown patches and tips but my main worry is that he has a browning outer layer on his base, I think it might be root rot but none of the leaves are yellowing or completely brown just constant patches or brown :( he also has these small dots under his leaves? if anyone could help me that would be great! He was one of my first house plants and I want to make sure hes ok! Also Im scared to take him out of his pot as I don’t want to shock him or cause unnecessary damage when I don’t have the things to fix it :(
