Recommendations for a double 27' electric oven
Comments (1)Both my parents and my neighbor have the 27" Electrolux wall ovens and really like them....See MoreHelp with Wall Ovens 27 in vs 30 in
Comments (3)Cheryl, Thank you for your input, the 27 in Electrolux wave touch is now a contender. We'd like to also get a steam oven (you may have noticed from my other posts). And I am torn about what brand. We really liked how much more steam the thermador steam convection oven has over the miele. For wall ovens, I want a rotisserie and gliding racks, and the elctrolux doesn't have the rotisserie. The miele has both, but we'd love knobs instead of a touch panel. And the 30 in thermador has both, but we need a 27 inch oven and know nothing about how good the thermador cooks (I wasn't even considering that brand since the last time I did research into all of this was 7 years ago and A LOT has changed since then)....See More24' or 27' gas wall oven
Comments (4)Gas wall ovens are a big problem. I can only have gas because my apartment has old wiring and theres only 60 amps available. (common in older NYC buildings). there are Viking and bluestar wall ovens - very pricey- and NOT self-cleaning. I guess if you can spend alot on the oven you can have your servants clean it. I can't understand why the viking gas oven in its range is self-cleaning, but in the wall it isn't. Maddening! there don't seem to be any 27" gas ovens, only 24" or 30". Also a problem. I was able to track down a Jenn Air 30" self-cleaning oven (JGW8130ddw15) but that model has been discontinued, and I don't think you'll be able to find one....See MoreWill 27 inch wall oven fit in 27 inch cabinet?
Comments (16)Thanks for all the replies - I can understand why people are suspecting my contractor of ignorance. That can happen, but I don't believe it to be the case this time. I think he is making sure I am happy with the outcome and have a oven that won't tip or tear out cabinet face frame. Maybe he is being over cautious.... It sounds like it is possible to just set the 27 inch oven on top of a base support instead of IN a 27 inch cabinet - is this correct? Then use some filler pieces if there is any space left exposed, right? Ok, so how would you secure the oven if you are NOT screwing clips to the face frame. If we were to anchor it to the back of the wall, it would certainly be secure, BUT, if the oven ever needed servicing or removal, would we have to remove our granite counter to get at it? Also, what should we do about supporting the granite counter above? Should we use the MDF vertical cabinet sides on either side of the oven?? I'm not at all concerned about the cost of the cabinet. It was only $130, then Home Depot gave me another $50 off when I asked about the problem with their cabinet specs. My only concerns are making sure the oven is secure with support for the granite. This oven will be adjacent to a wall, so it is at the end of a line of countertop....See MoreSara S
