I thought to use this wall tile mainly because I wanted the counter backsplash to go higher up the wall instead of the standard 4". It seems the drywall always gets water spotted around the handtowel hanger no matter how careful we are not to splatter water and to wipe down. I didn't think the simple white quartz going up the wall any higher than the 4" would look right. By reusing the wall tile from the shower, it 'could' balance the room. I'm not using any trim tile (no accent mosaic) or I would maybe repeat that here. I did think perhaps I'd get tile installer to cut the 12x24 to a smaller size (6x24?, 6x12?) maybe to break the pattern up a bit. But, not sure if that is even doable. This is my first bathroom remodel so on a steep learning curve. Tks for the feedback so far.

Plenty of rugs won't save you. I was giving the lab a bath. He bolted out the bathroom door after the bath and I rushed to close the door because it was drafty. He scrambled the rugs on the way out, I slipped and fell into the door jamb and broke my wrist. Would not use the tiles that are linked on a floor. They have R9 Slip Resistance rating which is the least slip resistant rating.

Very interesting that you were told that 24” x 24” costs more to install... that’s because your tile guy doesn’t like to work with them. I’m putting the same size throughout my entire home and in the process I came across one that wanted considerably more to do 24” x 24” and would do 12” x 24” for way less... and then I found another who looked at more logical and the price was the same regardless of size. I really believe it comes down to the installer, I’m like you and want to see as little grout as possible I also am having mine installed on the diagonal as they will run throughout and in a 4’ hallway that will look much better than straight. You posted in March if you have yours in please show us photos...

Thanks, everyone! Here's another factor I didn't mention... my contractor told me that my wall was really out of plumb... If he were to straighten up the walls, I'd lose 4" in width on the toilet back wall. I made a choice - maybe the wrong one - that I'd take unevenly cut floor tile over losing 4" in a narrow space. So, if the tiles go longways, opposite the floor planks, the "off" cuts would be the long part of the tiles, and probably significantly more obvious than if the short end of tiles are cut... That may end up being my deciding factor.
