So when you have an island that is a different color than the rest, it is usually a color that you will have throughout the open space (like decor like your kitchenaid or the color of the chairs in the great room it overlooks). It also is generally just the island. If it isnt going to be anywhere else in your home, then I'd paint the island to match the rest of the cabinets. If there is this color in other areas of the home, then i would keep it to the center island. but always remember this is your home and if you love it, thats all that will matter.

Don't settle! You already don't like the idea of an all white kitchen and a colored island....go for what your gut tells you. I did dark green lowers and white uppers...and I %$#& love it! It feels amazing to be in a space that inspires you.

@Laura Rayburn I think the first option will work well and make the space feel more open. That's actually why white cabinets go in and out of fashion every few decades. White makes a room look more open. so even if it is solely on top, it will make it feel larger. Though so make sure you get pulls instead of doing handless doors (even if they are finger pulls). The reason is white cabinets show a bit more, like all white does. by having handles you reduce touching if you have littles. though it wont help the paint from the kids climbing on the counters after art time. lol. But a few minutes and a magic eraser does wonders.

Matching different counter tops, backsplash and cabinets colors takes a real professional designer. When I first started my kitchen renovation I was in the same mindset. Someone on another thread advised not to over think and once you know what you want stick with it .

Honestly I wouldn’t do half the mowers blue and half white. I just don’t think it will look cohesive. I’d recommend either island only blue (which I know you don’t care for) it all lowers blue. For the quartz I think the option with the gold tone would look phenomenal with the gold hardware. I’d recommend all countertops be the same - with two cabinet colors you will need one countertop to pull it all together and make it cohesive. And for the backsplash I’d either do the same quartz as the countertops or do a tile backsplash. Two colors of cabinets and three colors of quartz (which I think was one of the proposed options) would be too much going on.

With all that said, I agree with Andre that it would really be worth the money to find a pro to help you make a materials and color plan. I’m going through a major reno also, and I told myself I wasn’t going to skimp on pro help. It’s kind of hard to think about spending money on something that doesn’t directly go into the house like materials do. But I realized that using a pro makes a huge difference in whether or not I make wise choices about what DOES go into the house. My results are going to be a hundred times better than if I had made all the decisions myself.

Somewhat related note - there's a long stretch of uppers - what about adding accenting some material over the stove... break up the length.

One other note - a 52” hood does not have enough capture for a 48” range. A range of that size needs a hood with a capture area 6” bigger than the range. I know it’s only 2” but it really does matter.

Trust me when I say I have done all my research on vent hood inserts and the importance of having one atleast the same size as your range, preferably one size bigger. The research recommends it being atlest the same size. Im ok with it being at 52 with a CFM of 1200.

That was my thoughts exactly, keep all countertops the same to have the cohesiveness; great!

Go for #1 of your cabinet choice. I think it will be so pretty! Trust your gut!

@everdebz its like you read my mind. I was thinking of possibly doing brass strips on the vent hood. Although because the surrounding cabinetry will have brass pulls and the hood will be a white cover with shaker style paneling I think it will be enough of a difference, but I hear you. thanks for your input!

Laura, I have a 48" 1200 cfm hood above a 48" dual fuel range, they are a great combo and the hood does wonderful job at taking away the steam, smell and grease. Your 52" will be plenty, while still looking nice.

@lucky998877 Thats wonderful to hear! I'm really excited to start cooking/baking. I have heard similar experiences such as yours (with same size range and hood). I might even go down to a 48 myself. I'll see what the contractors and hood designer says. I have a little over 54" of space in that area.

No comment on color, but can you change your lowers to drawers? If you search on this site, you will see all kinds of information on the benefits of drawers.

Countertops on both island and counters all alike. Dont overthink it. Your first thoughts are probably the best thoughts. I wouldnt want an all white kitchen either.
