Wall art suggestions?

Hi Houzz folks!
We just put in new vinyl plank flooring and had the walls painted Benjamin Moore November Rain (a soft grey with a green undertone). We have this massive blank wall that I'm not sure how to address. Any large scale bespoke art would cost a fortune, but we really want something personal. Any creative ideas? Also including photos of art already in the space; contemporary landscape painting by Canadian artist Peter Rotter and a professionally frames family heirloom watercolour.
Wall space measures approximately 5 ft x 8 ft.

Sofa is small for that wall, usually art size recommended is 2/3 the width of the sofa. I would center the sofa on the wall.

How are your photography skills? Perhaps you could take a few photos (landscapes, places you’ve been etc.) to complement the art you already have and create a gallery wall behind the sofa with your own photos.

Perhaps something like this? (link below ...) OR perhaps simply create a grid (maybe six or eight or even ten depending on size) of your own photographs. Consider taking a walk around a local historical district of your town OR perhaps a local garden or nice area -- photograph a collection -- trees? cool doors or architechural elements? THEN -- take the photographs and have them printed in sepia (brownish) tones. Mat them alike in creamy white and frame in dark chocolate brown. Hang in a tight grid above the bed .... Etsy, eBay, Everything But The House(online estate sales, bids start from one dollar..might get expensive though if a lot of people like it..))..Saatchi Art is wonderful but is more expensive..great service, I echo cawaps here..Chairish.com-great choice as well..you can make offers there too. Ruby Lane-I'd say in general more expensive, more in line with Saaatchi prices, but you can find anything really-huge website full of many things, fine paintings among them. That's one of German biologist/naturalist Ernst Haeckel's prints. You can either buy one or a few reproductions from Etsy or Art dot com (I wouldn't pay too much), or you can buy a copy of his "Art Forms in Nature" for under $20 and cut out the plates to frame. Depending on your budget, if you can swing $140 the Taschen book that came out last year,"The Art & Science of Ernst Haeckel", has better -- in terms of both quality and quantity (and size) -- reproductions because few do art books better than Taschen.

I'm all about choosing art you like and not art that "matches the space." I don't see the space as being at all restrictive as to what you could hang there, although I would probably choose something fairly large to be enjoyable from Peloton distance. Hilma af Klint seems like a perfectly fine choice if her work appeals to you.

Look into a local artist or art gallery. Some colleges have either their own art galleries or art departments. Look online for them or call them up and see what's available. If you are creative, go to an art supply store and get two 3x4 foot stretched canvasses. Get some acrylic paint and create some simple abstracts (if that goes along with your style). Put in top youtube search box "paint large simple acrylic abstracts", and see all the ideas. Below is a creation that I made.
