Help me get started picking paint colors - kitchen
Comments (3)Ooh, yes, a cool white would be very pretty. You could go with a white that is tinted with a little blue for the main body of your house. blue is classic, cool, and goes with almost everything....See MoreHelp me pick a paint color for my kitchen!
Comments (28)hey pattyk - I told you, I am waiting for you to make all the decisions, so I can just sit back and copy you!! LOL.... just kidding :) Well, our kitchen is at a standstill right now. Searching like crazy to pick the backsplash (btw, ever since you posted your DH's idea to tile to the ceiling, I have found soooo many pics that do that!! It's only been around like a window wall though, not above the cabinets, it doesn't look weird at all) and today I will venture out and pick some new paint chips to try. I have a running list of colors I see posted on GW. However, my slab of "our" granite has heavy gray tones, so I can't go with the browns I was in love with :( The other thing I am waiting on is a window treatment, but DH has a client that does that at home window treatment shopping thing and he really wants to come do ours. I am inclined to let him because what I had in mind just doesn't seem like it will work. What is the tile you are using? Do you know what pattern you will do it in? Any accents or just one color? I am bookmarking like crazy and confusing the heck out of myself...haha. elle3 - I thought that was the one, it was talked about alot on the kitchen forum and it also gets referred too alot. Isn't it wonderful??...See MoreHelp me pick a wall color for kitchen
Comments (5)I agree--green would be a nice choice with your cabinets and counter tops. A medium to dark color would be a nice contrast. Pastel would just get lost. Try BM Saybrook Sage, Louisberg Green, Kennebunckport Green, or any of the other greens in the Historical Paint Collection....See MoreHelp me pick paint colors!
Comments (24)I totally understand the overwhelming task of choosing one or a few wall paint colors from the vast number of choices out there. I have just finished painting the house we will move into next week. I cannot recommend heartily enough to buy a few sample pots of the wall paints you think you will like on more than one wall of each room in which you will use that particular color. You've been given some great suggestions by pros already in the above comments. I also painted the home we currently live in, and used the cooler tones of SW Crushed Ice and Repose Gray on walls, and SW Pure White on all the trim. In the new house, I went a bit warmer with the beautiful greige BM Edgecomb Gray, and again used SW's Pure White on all trim. In the children's room, used BM "Quiet Moments" (maybe a little subliminal suggesting???) which is a gorgeous blue with a tad green, and looks beautiful with the Pure White trim. Congratulations on having a new home for this brand new year! I wish you all the best!...See Moreprintesa
