Agree with smm5525, the two inspirations pics are not really compatible. The LR would fit in perfectly in my traditional 1941 "colonial" house and the kitchen is more a 1990's "Mediterranean" genre. Neither are either tropical or beachy -- I am not sure what you are picturing in your mind's eye with those terms. The two spaces are going to be completely open to each other so they have to flow together smoothly. Also, they need to fit the style/era of the rest of your house! What is it like? You had mentioned that the kitchen would be "warm" and the great room/bar "cool" which, again, doesn't often work in real life when the spaces are juxtaposed like that. One or the other will always look "off" to you unless the colors are very carefully chosen and use a lot of mid range neutrals (colors that work with both warm and cool). I do like the color that you've chosen for the bar cabinets BTW. Find some more inspiration pics to clarify your overall looks and then call your ID soonest and get him/her working with you! You mentioned being on a timeline, but I strongly encourage you to have the whole project a bit more thoroughly planned out before anything is started.

Well, I'm not a kitchen designer, but I think you're right about your island going in the wrong direction simply because it is a barrier between either of your sinks and the refrigerator. But I don't think you could actually just turn in 90 degrees without shortening the length drastically. What would be better to access the fridge in its current location would be a C shaped kitchen, the island being turned 90 degrees and becoming a peninsula attached to the end of the counter on the main sink side. Of course that would pretty much kill having that round table where it is. (A narrow rectangular table might fit better than the round one in the current situation.) What would be nice to see for you to get more help though is a drawing with the widths of the aisles between counters, fridge to counter, etc. People on Houzz like to see those. Also how far are you able to go to change things? It can get pretty costly rearranging a kitchen.

It looks like the builder isn't following any of the many different drawings, because the drawings were inadequate and/or they didn't want them. Consider it de rigueur "design/build" then, and roll with the punches. You may already have a black eye (and from that elevation design broken ribs and a bloody nose) so to say, but power through. Because of where the turret windows' head and sill would hit the porch roof and ceiling, you can't carry the porch across the turret. And IIRC you said in your last thread changing windows is not an option because of lead times. Another option is to remove the 2 windows on the angle, then leave the porch roof alone, or then extend the roof just to the angle. I think either of these options would be worse. I'm not sure how the stair is laid out, but in any case I don't think it's a big deal to see the "gable end" of the shed roof when looking through both windows. So some scenarios depending: 1) Leave the "gable end" of the shed roof and front as is. Only has continuous gutter on the front. If you want to do something, depending: 2) If you are leaving the shed roof and adding the front gable pediment like I suggested prior thread: i) gable pediment to end with 2 options for gutter - carry across or split gutter with return ii) hold the gable pediment back from the end with 2 options for gutter - carry across or split gutter with return 3) If you are re-framing the shed roof on this side to a hip roof to match the other side of the porch, with or without gable pediment, hold the gutter back. You will need kickout flashing regardless, so make the kickout flashing longer to get the gutter out of the pinched corner: Edited: Did not see inside stair picture while I was writing this comment. I don't think seeing the "gable end" of the shed roof is a big deal. Once you get on the landing, the lower window looks to be below your shoulders, and the upper window is above your head, so that will minimize the view to the side of the porch. FWIW, that is going to be one helluva expensive railing - really like the inside curve, but man oh man.

First of all you need a 2d floor plan with every window, door, wall etc measured. Secondly and most important, do not do anything for at least 6 months. Move in, live with the kitchen as is, and once you're in the house working in the kitchen, you'll start to realize what will or will not work for you. What you have there now, while not ideal is still quite workable.
