It's a really cute post-war ranch. I don't think there is a more descriptive term than that. I love the window in the slab front door, the use of stone and the beautiful hardwoods. The word bungalow means a small, single story house. In the U.S. people apply the word to Craftsman style houses of any size. Nonetheless, the narrow windows and vertical brick siding have features that remind me of "modern" style. Replace your exterior light fixtures with something like THIS. Find a similar top for the post lamp. Place path lights along the driveway and following your walkway to the front door. Remove or relocate the two trees and the flowering shrub in front of your door. Replace these with very low-growing plants if you wish, but your front door should be visible from the driveway if not from the street. I can't see what style of door you currently have, but choose a more contemporary style. Look for a new garage door with a strong vertical line. Paint the door to work with the brick color.

We use the front door as an entry, it has a couple planets on it, I rant to decorate it a little bit more with a little bistro set maybe! I am looking for more budget friendly fixes currently since we are hoping for an addition on the back at some point and my husband does not want to put too much into the front, so if i can think of a good fix that's affordable then it's manageable! He is also amazing at diy and reno projects and my brother is a contractor so that helps!
