Do you have photos? Also are CL doors bifold or French? What's the distance from wall to door opening and wall to CL? Another option is to put the changing table into the closet if it does not have any build ins and use a drawer for kids clothes in the corner

I don’t have any other measurements right now. Yes, I think they might work! I didn’t think of putting both crib/beds vertically for some reason - was trying to figure out how to align them both against a wall.

You could remove the closet doors, shelf and hanging rod, and use that space as part of the room.

Children's clothes can usually be folded in a drawer or on open shelves, so you may want to use that space as, for example a play nook with shelves for toys. Or even tuck a small bed in there to leave more play space.

Just to save you the expense of another crib, you may want to consider just using a twin on the floor for your oldest when the baby is ready for a crib (assuming you're using a pack nplay or bassinet or something similar for the first few months). That's a nice sized closet - you can probably put a dresser in there to help with storage. congrats on your first apartment!

Depends on your toddler. My 2.5 yo still loves his crib (and we love that he is can’t escape it on a sleeping bag). Get a transformable one in ikea or a used one.

Yes it depends. my toddler loved her crib until she started throwing fits about it at 2.5. my cousin moved her oldest to a bed when the next came and it was fine. my point is, cribs are usually not cheap and you won't need it for much longer anyway. but obviously everyone is different.

I would first get a protective cover for the radiator if it gets very warm....protect the tiny hands which will be exploring the room. The rad cover should have no openings you can get your fingers through. An 18-month-old can stay in the crib until he/she is capable of climbing (or trying) to climb out of it. Then a twin bed with a removable rail or two should work fine. You may have a friend who has a crib to lend or sell to you for the new baby, or you can check a resale shop. I suggest you use some thing very sturdy for the new baby because the first child may attempt to get into the baby’s bed with his/her new sibling.
#1 will not yet understand that h/s must not climb into #2’s bed.
