Back to the Living Room if you don't mind. What are ways to place the TV in that corner or wall next to the fireplace. Obviously if in the corner then somehow the window will be partially behind the TV. I personally don't have issues with placing the TV above the fireplace and I want the furniture to reflect the fireplace as the rooms focal point. I just can't seem to completely wrap my mind around how to layout the furniture best if the TV is on the front exterior wall and/or in the corner.

Remove one of the chairs. side the love seat away from the sofa and put it on the staircase wall. Put one of the two chairs on the kitchen side. Move the sofa off the wall so people can walk behind it rather than in front of it. Remove the little door mat rug, not needed. Invest it some artwork. If I was yo I would close off that weird little doorway to the kitchen, since you have a huge one just passed it. We really need the measurements of the room to fully help but this is my best guess. When you buy new. do not buy a sectional or sofa love seat. buy a sofa and two chairs. Consider moving the tv Pick items that are not overstuffed or over sized.

Pretty space that will only get better with tweaking! I agree with Jan's suggestion. The couch on the wall beside the fireplace doesn't look right--too crowded. I understand the desire for that symmetry with them facing each other, but even if you get rid of the TV, having a couch there just doesn't work. We have a similar layout in our living room--those corner fireplaces make furniture placement difficult! After eight years and trying many different layouts, we have settled on a plan similar to Jan's. Do you need a TV in the space ? Forget the loveseat they are really just a big chair get 2 more chairs then you will have 6 people always comfy . Realize the chairs will be bigger than 24"
