smilobean, I'm a minnesotan too (and we know winter!). I built 12x13 cedar screen porch in 2005. I have black aluminum spindles and weatherbest decking. I had ReadySeal applied in 2006 and it has performed nicely. I used deep red color and its beautiful and the cedar still shows thru. I used a company called Roof2Deck to apply and they did a great job. The initial application was pricey, but the maintenance is supposedly much cheaper. I may have them touch-up my porch this year. But you can order the product on-line and DIY. Hope this helps, and would love to see some pics. jasper

We just completed a screened porch that has a high ceiling with exposed beams of marine grade treated lumber and T-111 on the ceiling. We want to stain it. What's the best product to use? Should we wait a while before the wood is stained? Thanks

I like the flooring this color. But the ceiling I would maybe do some white paneling over it ...

I am looking for the best way to paint or stain the floor a color. This is an old photo of the porch. Its all white now (ceiling and sides). the floor Is already painted or stained but it gets very dirty. I don’t think that it’s a nice wood underneath.
