ProVia Endure Windows Good?

We are replacing all the windows in our home (15 + bay). Went to a local window installers showroom today on Long Island and they only use ProVia windows and quoted us on their Endure model. They said it would be $450/window (bay more of course) including install. I have never heard of ProVia before, but the guy in the show room made them sound pretty decent and at that price a good deal. Does anyone have any experience with these windows and know if they are good quality especially for that price?

They are pretty good , but not as good as some of the other top Performers .

$450 with labor is crazy Joe Davola low. Feel like some details are being left out at that price.

What other top performers are you referencing? I honestly have very little knowledge of this. As for the price i asked a lot of questions and they seemed to give good answers for all of them. Part of it is that they are doing the whole house so they are cutting us a bit of a deal for so many. Is there any specific questions I should ask?

I purchased the doors through a legit provia door dealer who employs his own installation crew. Overhead at the business is low and there are no commissioned salesmen. The installers are very experienced in window and single door installs. Unfortunately, the final adjustment was made on a relatively warm day so air infiltration wasn't apparent. The installer said he couldn't see any light infiltration in the area of concern so I signed off on the paperwork as satisfied with the install. Now, with colder weather making the leak apparent, I'm using stick on weatherstripping as a temporary measure. I'll probably call them back but I'm thinking an effective fix would require removing/rehanging the door. I feel that an experienced french door installer would have seen the potential problem and taken measures to correct it. Lesson learned..proper installation every bit as important as the quality of the product..

@Pat Litchfield: "what would the Provia doors in 2023 cost installed? I cant find prices anywhere on the internet." You won't find them there because there are many models, a gazillion features, and they're custom sized and installed. Our condo owners installed Provia Heritage Fiberglass doors which have worked well -- energy efficient and very effective at reducing street noise -- except a bit of the weatherstripping pulled out from the bottom of my door.

Hello, I am hoping for some advice on these quotes for 24 double hung windows + 3 picture windows for a total of 27 windows. I currently have 25 year old single pane windows. My top priority is reducing air infiltration and plan to be in the home for ~10 years or more and I live in Kansas. Revere Berkshire Elite triple pane (similar to an Alside Mezzo but better) - $14.6k .04 air infiltration .21 u .26 solar .45 VT steel spacer (upgraded foam spacer is an additional $1728. Is a foam spacer really necessary with a triple pane unit as there is no direct contact between inside glass and outside glass? It DOES seem necessary for a double pane.) ProVia Endure triple pane - $21k - Double pane $16.5k .05 air infiltration .19 u (.27 double pane) .18 solar (.21 double pane) .35 VT (too dark?) foam spacer Soft-lite Elements triple pane - $24k - (I'm waiting on double pane quote) .01 air infiltration (best you can get) .19 u .24 solar .4 VT foam spacer By the performance numbers and internet reviews, the soft-lite seems like my dream window but is very costly. It doesn't seem to be that much better than the Berkshire by the numbers. I could take that ~8k difference and use that to get my siding painted and wood rot fixed. What are your thoughts?

A few questions.. I am a bit concerned about purchasing directly from the manufacturer (Quantapanel). I like having the added layer of a distributor because if something goes wrong, they have to fix the problem. I'm not sure what I would do on my own if there was a problem. Also, did you do a color? The website implies they won't send a color sample until you place an order, although I can ask them. I had planned to do ProVia because it came in Mountain Berry; I'm still kicking myself for not knowing they were discontinuing their aluminum storm windows. Larson storm windows don't come in colors. Was the sound issue why you elimimated Larson, or were there other reasons?

i would assume these to be inserts? Are they double hungs? Are they wrapping the exterior trim? Did you Thoroughly research the company? Are they specialized in windows?

what Year is the house built? Where is it/you located?

If everything checks outs the price very low for a pretty darn good window.

Soft-Lite, LS/Element, Okna 800/600 then 500, Vytex Potomac/Fortis would be some other better choices but the Endure is right behind them. Brands can very regional.

+1. Decent. Not as good as their doors and certainly not performance equivalents to some of the better products out there.

Also keep in mind LI is a very high cost of living area and the cost of construction right now is astronomical. What is his schedule? How far out is he booked? If he is available now or even early spring I would be certain of doing my due diligence on vetting home as that is a bit of a red flag to me.

I dont know how anyone could install a decent window for $450 and not lose money, it makes absolutely no sense unless he is charging you 20k for the bay window.

I am familiar with the provia product and there is no way to install that window for $450. On average that window is $650 - $700 installed for a very simplistic install from what I have seen.

They are double hung and yes they are doing the exterior trim. the company is Mikita Door and Windows based in Freeport, LI. The house was built in 1947. I did what research I could and reviews seem overall positive. Nothing that I found that was a huge red flag other than seeing the cost being so low. Talking to them they seemed candid and honest, telling us that they buy the windows for around $220 each. The Bay they said they would install for $4000 (with casements on the side windows). Also told us that bc we are basically replacing the whole house which is 15 windows + Bay + 1/4 casement 1/2 picture 1/4 casement that the price per window is lower. usually would be $550 up per window if it was a smaller project.
