Converting bedroom to master bathroom closet plan. Suggestions?
Comments (2)I don't see how a tub would fit too, short of putting it where the dresser is. I don't think you'd want to bathe in the closet though :-) I would suggest not having the only shower entrance via the WC. What if you switched the shower and WC, and had them both open into the bathroom, but keep the second door by the toilet to open into the bedroom? Then you could slip in to, uh, you know, then go out the other door to access the sink, then back to bed. Looks very nice, I bet you will love it!...See MoreMaster Bathroom Addition Floor Plan
Comments (41)I like that plan a lot Keywest, except I would probably nix the window in the closet. Another design we are throwing around. Pretty much checks all the boxes. Door location is not ideal but workable. I really like how this one and yours above has everything open and allows for sunlight and a view no matter where you are in the bathroom. (Except on the toilet of course. lol) This design has a large closet door, and equally centered windows which is great. The toilet is right when you walk in, but I think by putting it in back in the alcove, and opening the door away from it like this, it wouldn't be too bad. Our current toilet is literately the first thing in our bathroom and it never bothered me or even occurred to me until you guys mentioned it on one of my plans. Not a deal breaker. This is my dream bathroom. I love the marble, grey vanity, bench, and especially the pony wall between the vanity and shower. What I'm imagining with built-ins above the tub, marble, and large windows. Our furnace is direct vent, and we are really limited on where we can put it due to crawl space issues. Pretty much have to put in in the addition, as per HVAC guy. Putting it inside the closet inside the bathroom on the far side is our best option. CO2 detectors are a must....See MoreNo door on master closet that is the master bathroom?
Comments (13)Depends on the layout. Our design has a combined space with wardrobe, linen closet, and vanity on one end and wet area (shower, tub, and sauna) on the other. Toilet is in its own closed space in between. It makes a lot more sense to me for the bathroom and dressing space to be combined. Humidity can be dealt with through adequate ventilation (some ventilation fans even have humidity sensors)....See MoreWater Closet in Master Bathroom
Comments (63)We've always lived in very warm and humid southern states. FL and LA were the worst for humidity, but the others haven't been much better. Not once have we had mold in a closet that opens off our bathroom. We use the exhaust fans as recommended and manage the overall indoor humidity to the best of our ability. That means using a portable dehumidifier during the shoulder seasons, which we'd need no matter where the closet was located. The new house will have a whole-house ventilating dehu system. We much prefer a compartmented bathroom and separate closets that both open off the bathroom. If either of us is up late or rises early, the other one is not disturbed. If we need to get ready at the same time, we have more privacy. For over four decades this has worked well for us. Other folks have different preferences, but the negative responses (some rather rude) from a few here whenever these situations come up surprise me....See Morekiffkat
