Wall Art Help for Study/Home Office? Photoshoppers Please?
Comments (18)Oh, squirrelheaven thank you so much for your photoshopping. I love the tapestries but I think I might like the arts and crafts tiles better. I agree that the lamp needs to show, and this may do it better. The wall is actually a bit bowed out in a nice little triple-type curve so the symmetrical look of the two chairs under the windows with the table in the center really works (rather than the table to the side). I will definitely look into these tiles. The people at this forum are fabulous, and very helpful. I think I need to learn how to photoshop....See MoreNew Home, Blank Canvas
Comments (4)I would wait until the sofa and console are placed before you decide on the other elements. A lighter wall color, and new lighting will really help. I would start with a tall floor lamp on the far side on the sofa, and replace the ceiling light with an interesting semi-flush mount to give the room some character. Whatever style goes with your furnishings....See MoreBlank slate office...need help/ideas please :)
Comments (4)Here's what I might try: Obtain a L-shaped desk with a right-hand return. Position the return along the window wall to the right of the window. The desk extends away from the window wall towards the closet (when sitting at the desk you look to your right to look out the window). Allow some space between the return and the adjacent walls to eliminate the impression that the furniture is jammed into the corner of the room. Check if the "cable box" can be mounted vertically. If so, attach a piece of painted wood to the window wall and hang the cable box on it. You don't want to set the cable box on the desk. Unless the computer is enormous, obtain a bracket and hang the computer underneath the return. Position the computer so you will not bump with your knees it when sitting at the return or desk, or switching between them. Attach cable guides to the underside of the desk and return to keep wires off the floor. Optionally attach a keyboard tray underneath the return. Obtain a table for the printer and position it under the window to avoid putting the printer on the desk. If the printer must go on the desk, put it in the corner near the window. If there's space, put some shelves along the wall between the window and the closet. If not, hang some shelves or cabinets over the return to the right of the window. Optionally change the closet door to a folding door so it doesn't project so much into the room. If there's space above the safe, attach some shelves or cabinets there. -- amateur...See MoreDesign Dilemmas for Home Office
Comments (4)What kind of work will you do in this office? If the chairs are for clients, then small tables next to each (like for a drink of water) would be good and I would not do any ottomans. If you’re alone in there and these chairs are for you to relax, then ottomans are fine. Whatever you use this office for, make sure the chair is SUPER comfortable and supports your back. Love the rug in the photo with the leather chairs. Is that being considered, or already purchased?...See Morejoneill320
