Some pieces look fragile, like the balloons. Do they seem fragile when you assemble it?

Wow, that's really pretty! I'm not sure if our new kitten would "allow" us to work on a puzzle, but this is awfully tempting. Off to Google them now.

ETA ... Just looked at your link. So, one side is the artwork and the other the stained wood? It would be hard to determine how best to display it upon completion!

Something similar to that kept showing up on my Facebook feed last month. I was tempted to buy it even though I don't do puzzles.

bpath, that was my concern when I saw the very slim pieces, but they are fairly thick and therefore probably more sturdy than they might appear. I wouldn't deliberately try to stress them, however. :) ETA: they are much more sturdy than ordinary cardboard puzzle pieces.

ocotillo, the back side is a creamy color -- like a light-colored wood. They show the puzzle backs on the website. The website says the puzzles are made from high-grade wood and archival quality paper and paint. Re cats, I have a little one who loves to sit in the puzzle box, so I just gave her her own empty shallow box, under a light, so she felt like she was lounging in the sun. :)

Our daughter got us one of these for Christmas as well. It was HARD but so beautiful. It breaks every puzzle-building rule you know! Very challenging.

Now that I’ve looked through puzzles on their website, I see that each puzzle has a unique cut pattern. Some cuts definitely look more difficult than others! but I think you need to consider both the front colors/patterns and the shapes of the pieces to gauge the difficulty of assembling it. My sister chose this puzzle based on the cut pattern.

It’s a 250 piece puzzle — we started it around 2pm and finished it before 10pm, which is longer than an ordinary 250pc puzzle would take us to complete, but less time than an ordinary 500pc puzzle would take... and that includes plenty of time to oooo and aaahhhh over the cute pieces. Lol.

Re age: if a pre-teen does regular jigsaw puzzles, they should be able to do these.

They are definitely sturdy enough to be reassembled multiple times! They even come in a sturdy box with a magnetic closure. :)

With all the unique shapes, it **seems** these would be easier to put together because how many places will a head shape or an arrow go - as opposed to a regular puzzle where most of the pieces are a slight variation of each other. KWIM?

DS put one together last that was a BEAR to assemble. Every piece is identical, and the pattern is sort of a tesselation, very intricate. It’s been on the coffee table for a year, makes a great coaster! I asked him if I could put it away, and he asked that it be preserved. Well, I don’t have a tray or board big enough to slide it onto, guess I’d better go find one. Maybe I’ll just leave it on he table, it IS awfully pretty.

bpath, have a piece of glass or plexiglass cut to cover the puzzle on the table. I have a 1000 piece puzzle under glass on the computer desk. :)

Hearty second for the these mosaic puzzles. I've ordered them as gifts with great feedback from recipients. We trade them aroung the neighborhood now, too. You can re-order the same puzzle, and it will come with a different cut, so you can enjoy it again. Expensive compared to cardboard, but so satisfying, and can be assembled multiiple time without damage.

A lot of people do that. Mine is a stock landscape.
