What color should I paint the exterior stucco of my house?
Comments (46)Maybe you can try a large swatch of the finalists and see what happens after a couple weeks. It depends on what color your "dirt" is. Your side yard is all paved so I don't really know that you would pick up much from the ground. The light stucco on my building bases did not seem to get too dirty. Some of the darker colors were darker than the actual dirt or airborne "soot" or whatever it is, and showed dirt more. Kind of like a dark car (or black pants to use your analogy)...So it depends on your local environment....See Morewhat sheen should I paint an outside pergola.
Comments (2)Matt, that might depend on (a) the sun exposure on your pergola, (b) the color of the paint, (c) the type of wood or prominence of the grain and/or (d) the style of your home and the pergola. Flat sheens look better on rustic styles than a gloss would; a gloss might help the structure stand out in a shady location, especially if the paint is a light color. Flat is more forgiving of nicks and stains. If your home has wood trim (e.g. window casings), or if you have decorative rafters or corbels on the roof, you might consider matching your pergola to those so all of the "carpentry" items on and around the house relate to each other....See MoreWhat color should I paint the outside?
Comments (4)I found the previous post and agree w/ comments about a lighter color under the porch improving things. Your photo makes it look like you have many different colors in the house, and I agree with cat_ky that your roof color is disjoint from all the other colors I perceive. Maybe photos from a different angle or in different lighting would help to envision something. If the roof/color will stay, then I'd look for a grey accent/trim color that might pull the whole thing together a little better....See MoreWhat color should I paint my house
Comments (7)I wouldn’t be quick to remove the bushes/trees/shrubs! Identify them first — they may just need pruning and shaping. What are they? The one on the right looks like a lush weeping tree of some kind that has been pruned to look like ‘cousin It’. :) Your house looks great in the color it is now!...See MorePatricia Colwell Consulting
