After my recent experience with Maiden, I do not believe all of the positive reviews. There are price discrepancies for the sectional I want to order and their customer service team was rude and talked over me when I tried to explain that there are 3 different prices being quoted for the exact same item! I was told its a website “glitch” and that the actual price of the sofa I want is more than what the website shows. Website shows $5425. By text customer service told me more than once it’s actually $5500 list price and by phone/email yet another customer service rep told me its even more- $5550! I told her i don’t trust these seemingly arbitrary price discrepancies and she said the higher price IS the price, doesnt matter what the website says or the other customer service rep says- the highest price stands, take it or leave it. If they can’t even get their story straight on the pricing, how are they gojng to get my order right? if they seem to just change their oricing arbitrailty and not honor whats written on their website- why would I trust that they are going to honor ANY of the written policies or product information on their website. Seems like they put out false information and then cal it a ”glitch” and the customer is the one who suffers for it. The difference in price won’t break me, its a few hundred- but the principle of it and the poor customer service make me wary of Maiden. Seems like an Untrustworthy company!

Michael, I posted the link mainly because the woman has bought several pieces of furniture from Maiden Home and seems to be very pleased with everything. I agree Serena and Lily's prices can be crazy! The blogger in the link I posted has bought quite a bit from them, too.

just email their design team for it. I used them and they did a full moodboard for our dining situation in addition to a floor plan (all free of charge). They are able to do custom sizes, order extra slip covers etc. We had some printed fabrics that we bought while in India and we were able to send it to them to put on our dining chair order - excited to get it - we thought we were going to have to buy chairs and then get them reupholstered locally.

Based on my observations, I'd grade the following brands like this: LOW (AVOID!) - interior define - arhaus - rh (overpriced crap!) - Crate and barrel - pottery barn - west elm MID (mass-produced but still pretty good) - Cisco - Lee - Sherrill - Taylor King - Charles Stewart - Chaddock - Wesley Hall HIGH (ONLY A HANDFUL OF COMPANIES DO IT RIGHT THESE DAYS) - Hickory Chair - Hendricks Fine Furniture - Century - Hancock & Moore - Seatly.com (my company, made-to-measure sofas made in North Carolina but exclusively invite-only to maintain highest quality standards) I would look out for the following: - Kiln dried hardwood: won't warp - Mortise and tenon joinery: strongest joinery - Eightway handtie: suspension system that will last forever - Sinuous springs with molded caps in the back: Great back support that won't squeke - Foam on the out-arms, top-arm, in-arms: you won't feel wood on the arms when sitting down - Spring down cushions: Most durable and comfortable cushion (won't "pancake" overtime) All these combined together will ensure that you will have a sofa that will last a LIFETIME.
