Jennair appliances - 48inch range, 71 inch french fridge
Comments (0)Hi everyone - I am looking for opinions on the following appliances for our new home. I am getting a 48inch range and am leaning towards the Jennair all gas, 6 burners with griddle as the top choice and second is the Captial 48 inch sealed burner with grill or griddle. Anyone have any experience with either? Does anyone use the griddle and does it lose its shine as Jennair says it doesnt as it has applied chrome to it (not sure if this is going to not lose its shine). Both are powerful ranges and pricing is similar. The fridge is the counter depth 71 inch tall french door. dw to be jennair as well and 48 inch hood Jenn air with 900 cfm's. Comments (7)@kerenophir I don’t have one but would definitely get one if I had a place for a third oven. I will be replacing my wall oven at some point and may just get one for that spot. Most people say it is their most used appliance because it uses the most optimum conditions for each type of food. Gas ovens have huge vents so have a hard time holding onto any humidity. Electric ovens with much smaller vents hold onto most of the humidity from food. The CSO adds humidity when needed but also vents it out. It is also specifically designed to tolerate steam. Most commonly people talk about steam but it is more than that. I would look at Wolf, Miele and Gaggenau too. I agree with Zalco that you can do just about everything yourself without the CSO but steaming can be damaging over time more so to an electric oven and it is much harder to do effectively in a gas oven. My SIL damaged her oven with steaming....See MoreExperience with 48 Inch Entry Door?

Comments (10)So I will say that IMO Wolf is overpriced and over rated now. Maybe at one time they were the gold star but now many are up there . I have an all gas range Bertazzoni and double electric wallovens but I run a catering biz from my home. IMO Ilke both types of ovens since pizza and bead IMO bake nicer in a gas oven. You need to figure out what you cook and how you cook it. IMO no one needs a 48" range unless they cook for 20 3x aday even commercial kitchens often have just a 36" range . Go to a good appliance store and ideally one that does demos on the weekend, that way you get to see how other choices could work.IMO a taster oven will do the small stuff and then get a cooktop if you love the wall ovens you have . IMo appliances are the backbone of a kitchen and need lots of thought to get right and I always start my kitchen designs after the appliances have been chosen....See MoreDeborah Denny
