Color advice: Match Oak cabinets to new LVP and carpet.
Comments (17)@aprilneverends, the original cabinet picture is posted in my original post. I do not have the pictures to the "space" but the rest of it is indeed just ivory colored walls with windows, and oak colored baseboards, covered with a neutral carpet -- which will be replaced with a vinyl plank flooring. To answer your other question regarding LVP: I intend to put wood-look vinyl in the living/dining area, and intend to put tile-look vinyl in the kitchen and entry -- which is approximately 6'x8' area that is completely open otherwise to the rest of the Great Room. Hope that answers the questions. Housegal, thanks for the link share. Bardapotter: thank you for the pointer. Would love to see pix. Colonel115: any pointers regarding which wood/stain look would be a shade darker? TIA!!...See MoreRecommendations for modern and light colored LVP
Comments (33)Generally speaking, LVP is a real victim of supply chain issues. I think it's pretty much across all brands. I ordered Coretec last March or April which was supposed to be here in early June. It kept getting pushed back, late June, July , and then finally in August we did get it and I am thrilled. I am just sharing that the availability is a real issue and people in a time crunch should be aware. It will come through but it may be delayed (and this seems to be all brands pretty much). I think for Coretec there are some that they have in more plentiful supply and they have indicated that on their Facebook page....See MoreAny PRACTICAL reason not to use LVP in my kitchen?
Comments (4)I think it is a practical material, as long as you are happy with the look. I personally love hardwood in a kitchen, as I also find tile too hard. I don't like the look of LVP, and I am allergic to things that off gas a lot, so it is not an option for me, but if you like it you should do what makes you happy! The only practical consideration I can think of is that burn marks show up very easily. We burned several holes in ours when I was a kid when a pot burned dry and someone tried to move it and the liquefied metal between the layers in the pot went flying all over the floor. As long as you don't drop anything that is scalding, you should be okay!...See MoreDoes WARM light gray LVP exist?
Comments (3)Coretec is great...so is Beauflor. Everlasting designs is on the budget side....but I did my butler pantry and mudroom with them and I love it. A warm gray. Photos make it look a lot more directional than it is. It's breeze to keep clean....See Moremschnapp
