Paint color for black & white tile bathroom?

I need to make some final decisions around our first-floor bathroom. We kept an existing shower but it mainly serves as a powder room. Floor tile is a black-and-white faux cement look, with white subways in the shower, and the fittings are all Delta Cassidy in champagne bronze. It's a longish narrow space (4.5x11.5) and I'd like it to be sort of pretty. If I hadn't already picked a busy tile, I would have done the jewel box wallpaper look.

The room has no windows but I'd still like to do some color on the walls. Stark white paint seems very boring! Any ideas?

Once I pick a wall color, I can pull the trigger on a vanity - if I'm stuck with white walls, I'll do a black vanity, otherwise I'll go with white. Thanks for any opinions & advice!
