Veggie Tales - January 2019
Comments (1286)Tony - I haven’t placed my order yet, but those peppers aren’t tempting me. Maybe that carrot though. I saw it when I was perusing the site earlier. Kevin - My order included a couple bags of Promix, some 1020 trays and the 32 cell insert and a couple humidity domes. I’ve been doing seeds now for 9 years since my mother’s death and I have been using her previously used supplies all this time. I decided it was time I buy a few fresh ones. Was getting tired of finding holes in my trays. Those things happen after so many years of use. ;-/ Also picked up some netting that I hope will keep the birds off of the strawberries and then later the peach trees. A few other things that I can’t think of at the moment. The pelleted lettuce seed that I started 2 days ago has sprouted. :-)...See MoreVeggie Tales - January 2020
Comments (682)Not sure, John. It is out in the garden right now and last I checked, the bok choy were still green. If we end up not having any more winter, they just might survive out there. I think that the onion seed will surely survive....See MoreVeggie Tales - February 2021
Comments (551)Here is the list of tomato plants I transplanted into containers; (most only have one plant, but some of the containers had 2 or 3 plants growing together, so I just transplanted the whole thing and will remove the smaller plants as needed before they start putting on too many blooms. The few squash plants I have keep putting out blooms every day): Chocolate Stripes Dark Shekel George Detsika’s Italian Red Dark Star Pink Ping Pong (2) Hungarian Heart (2) Angora Super Sweet (2) Honeycomb Mortgage Lifter Giant Belgium (2) Black Cherry (2) Sweet Tangerine (2) Classic Beefsteak Black Beauty (2) Creole (22 containers used)-these were just the tallest tomato plants now. I have maybe 30 or so more 3 and 4 inch containers with tomato plants....See MoreVeggie Tales - May 2021
Comments (243)We got a few tomatoes and a couple Costato Romanesco zucchini set out. I don't think the zucchinis will make it. The plants were about 2 feet tall and the roots were apparently so deep in the hot frame that much of the feeder roots are gone. The plants could probably sell for $29.95 if you could get them to recover after transplanting to a big pot. Need to reseed the 2 varieties of zuchinni and the cukes I seeded as I see one of each made it....See Morecindy-6b/7a VA
