Entry Door to Match New HaaS Wood Grain Garage Door - ideas?
Comments (8)OP hasn't shown the front door. The pedestrian door to the garage should be painted the siding color to blend into the siding. Having it a different, prominent color will cause confusion to guests and not enhance the house at all. The design of the garage doors does conflict with the design of the house portion we can see....See MoreShould we paint the garage door trim to match the siding color?
Comments (0)We recently painted our house, including the siding, all the trim, and the front door. The siding color was previously a light shade of gray, and the front door was black. We were hoping that the new color scheme would cause the garage to recede while also pulling attention to the front door (which is always in the shadows due to the large tree in front, the angle of the house, and the porch roof). We went ahead and painted the garage door trim to match all the other trim. I am sort of feeling that it looks too busy with that garage door trim causing lines to pop out across the front expanse of the garage. Maybe there's just not a good way around it; the original house design, combined with the large tree, really makes the garage prominent. If we painted the garage door trim the same color as the siding, would that look odd? Would it make the garage look too imposing as a wall of nearly solid green? Should we accept the fact the garage is prominent and consider getting nicer doors that we might paint white?...See MoreNeed an opinion on wether to get a white garage door or matching house
Comments (11)The current color of your garage door is perfect. White will stand out too much....not in a good way. I know you did not ask, but you might consider replacing your front door, too. The faux Victorian look does not work unless it is on a Victorian house....IMO....See MoreWhat trim color and garage door color would match with a black door?
Comments (2)There isn't enough room to add shutters to your windows and they wouldn't look right if there were enough room. Here is a brief article on shutters so you see why they won't work on those windows in that location of your home https://www.lifeofanarchitect.com/residential-architecture-101-shutters/ Also, the door style you have chosen with the large oval is not appropriate for your home's style. It's a Victorian window (that oval). I know it's seen everywhere, but it just isn't the right style to enhance your home. Are you wanting larger window/lite in your front door? Or are you planning to paint your current door black (a better solution)?...See Moremrsfoxabee
