On a side note, what was going on with that linked bathtub with partial shower curtain and shower door combo? I've never seen that configuration. Melle - I never gave the shower curtain a thought. That's a good near-term solution while I take care of priority items. Sometimes the simplest are the best ideas. Thanks! ianna - Good idea. I'll be sure to do that and hope I encounter someone as knowledgeable as the former cabinet-maker I always consult at the "blue logo" store on woodmaking projects.

I would also go with the golden finishes. Maybe later you can find a gold shower fixture. I hear gold is coming back in style. So you should be able to find one. When I moved into my house 3 years ago I had a heck of a time finding a gold tube thingy that the toilet paper hangs on. Sorry don't know what you call it. Everything was chrome.

i think its the mirror that isnt sitting well with this design. its wayy too smallf or the vanity. you need a larger mirror that will take up more space. the lighting shouldnt be bigger than the mirror. would you do a wallpaper on one wall or paint an accent wall? maybe like a matte black wall or gray wallpaper behind the vanity?

It will look fine. Here are some photos of my shower; the first was taken @ night & the second in the morning with only natural light. The shower fixtures are Delta brilliance stainless but the shower door handle is brushed nickel from the glass company that made the shower enclosure. Cabinet door pulls (not shown) are brushed nickel from Top Knobs & they all look good together. As you can see in the photos, even the Delta fixtures can look a bit different in tone from each other depending on how the light hits them, so I bet you'll never notice the difference. I also threw in some bright brass towel hooks, a vanity light with a bit of gold, and some gold-framed art to keep it from looking too sterile (third photo).
