My past bad experiences with kettles

When i want tea, I mostly use my microwave to warm a glass-mug of water.

  • I do have a vintage Betty Crocker stovetop 18/10 stainless steel kettle https://www.pinterest.com/pin/428827195768689621/ which doesn't rust and it's 2qt, thus higher volume. The problem with it is that it's not a stay-cool handle. Also, the loop-knob on the lid eventually detached itself, so i rigged up an awkward makeshift handle onto the lid, fastened with stainless screws, and tied a silicone pony-holer onto the makeshift handle for gripping. I've kept it because its high-volume plus rust-free status is rare, and thus worthwhile keeping.

Some of my other experiences:

  • Bodum BPA-free electric kettle (lime-green plastic) https://www.pinterest.com/pin/537476536749602668/ bought many years ago. After just a bit more than a year, it burnt out and caused a horrible burning toxic smell to fill my kitchen. When i contacted them, I believe they said, too bad the year is up. Never mind that it was supposed to be BPA free, so why the horrible toxic odor when it burnt out?
  • 2-quart so-called stainless stovetop kettle i once bought at a closeout store. I forget the brand name, but it was Not 18/10. Despite that it looked deceptively high-end, it turned out to be a piece of junk which rusted internally after just a few months. Had to discard it.

So... is there any electric kettle out there that:

  1. Is approx. 1.7 liters
  2. includes a stainless filter at spout
  3. taste of water is BPA free - and non-metallic
  4. does not rust internally
  5. durable - does not burn out for years
  6. has a keep-warm mode that's non-defective
