Best upgrade in our new home
Comments (4)Actually, I don't think this is spam. While Hawkgt hasn't posted a whole lot on GW, he has been posting progress pictures of his house on Flgargoyle's monthly "how is your build progressing threads" since back in November '09. And he just posted a bunch of pictures of his lovely (now complete) home on this month's thread. He also posted a link to his blog about his new build. Apparently Hawkgt just really really really likes his new garage door opener and is sharing his enthusiasm for it. These kinds of recommendations are fair to post here AND are extremely helpful to the rest of us. Thanks Hawkgt....See MoreWe're really on our way!! I can't believe it :)
Comments (26)Yes- we really need to get some photos! I have just been tooooo busy every second of the day this past week! But it's really coming along: very exciting! I did purchase my Toto through a seller I found on eBay (ebuildersmerchant) but it wasn't an actual auction... I emailed them -as well as several other online retailers- with my list of plumbing and fixtures and asked for bids. I can't say enough good things about ebuildersmerchant.... their prices were gret, and the service was wonderful. Excellent communication, very fast shipping, etc. OK- pics soon I promise! Comments (9)Not what I am saying.... suggestions and doing all the work are different. I have an idea i'm not coming in empty handed. Need help with design... does it make sense? Would it look awkward... I thought that's what this forum was about. From my observations on topics that's what I understood. There are many topics with similar questions like mine. That's why I put "can't agree" my husband and I don't have the same ideas. Maybe I should've posted as a poll? Haven't used this app enough to understand it I guess. ♀️...See Morehow to modernize this kitchen when can't totally replace it
Comments (15)There is nothing ‘un-modern’ about the kitchen, except I would take down the metal rack and change out the fan to something more streamlined, or change it to a chandelier/light fixture - all dimmable. And I would bring in some under-cabinet lighting, if not there and update hardware. Wood for cabinetry is very much en vogue right now - plus classic. All types of wood are trending - and can work with a ”modern” design. So for me, the wood cabinets would not be a problem, and I like the warmth. But it is not my kitchen, and you already have major issues with the kitchen and are wanting to tear down stuctures to ”lighten” the space, etc. Plus - you are wanting to do this in a budget friendly way. So I would suggest just spend your money on refacing the cabinets. Leave everything else. Nothing wrong with the granite, breakfast bar, etc. http://countertopsnews.com/enviable-black-granite-countertops-with-white-cabinets/ ETA: https://www.houzz.com/photos/kitchen-with-green-countertops-ideas-phbr1-bp~t_709~a_3379-20107...See Moreceilsan32
