Half-wall or a column to place the bath faucet?

Hello,

I have just purchased a freestanding bathtub and a wall mounted faucet below:

Since it is an exterior wall, we need to build either a column or a half wall to place the faucet.

I am wondering what would be best in terms of a peaceful-zen look? I like it where there seems to be a continuous flow throughout a space.

So the questions are:

1) Should we build a column or an half wall?

2) On that wall/column, would it be best to put the same backsplash as the vanity or should we put the same honed travertine as the floor?

Thank you kindly

This is the rest of the bathroom:

Thank you very much for your anticipated advices
