Backsplash gap between counter top

Howdy!

I have a gap between my counter top and backsplash. I'm thinking about getting a dremel and cutting away the backer board and caulking, then filling in with tile.

What would you recommend?

The gap is between 3/4" and 7/8" with a 1/4" depth.

Get a 1/4" x 1" solid color solid surface molding fabricated and installed please. That's way too much gap for caulk.

thanks! I'll look at getting something that matches and caulking it in.
