Landscape ideas needed following pool removal
Comments (2)Call me crazy, but I like the round shape there, and it looks like you have plenty of lawn. Here's one idea: Replace the lower deck portion bringing it in line with the retaining wall so that it slightly juts into the circle. Replace the existing lower steps with ones that are wider, so that the steps repeat the theme of the upper ones but are off to the side a bit. Extend the pavers from the basement door into the circle. Then semi-enclose the circle with raised planters of bedding plants and seats, and put a fire pit in the center....See Morelandsacping ideas for increasing privacy of bedroom window
Comments (18)"a whatever vine on a whatever trellis" means it's only a scheme (as are all the sketch suggestions I've posted.) It's not a finished, detailed plan & specs. It's just the offer of an idea that a homeowner might not have thought. If it interests them at all, they can look into possible vines and figure out the exact size and kind of trellis they might like. Maybe they want to make it out of 3 bamboo poles, twine and a package of morning glory seeds for $10. Maybe they would want Doric stone columns imported from Italy for a couple thousand dollars. I don't know, but I'm sure they can figure it out. Even though I'm showing it at a backdrop to their already existing streetside bed, I'm sure they can figure out where exactly they want it. Based on the picture, it looks like they know something about plants. An advantage to using a vine on a trellis is that with a little cleverness on their part (put some kind of temporary panel on the back of it) they could have it installed and the light blocked this Saturday....See MoreSeeking landscaping (rock) advice

Comments (2)You want a designer, not a landscape architect. Those are the pros that focus mostly on commercial projects and charge the big bucks. Landscape designers are ideal for 99 out of 100 residential projects. I would highly recommend Virginia Hand Designs, (206) 388-6474. Virginia and I attended design school together, she is a highly skilled and talented designer and has an extensive portfolio. If Virginia is not available, I'd try Alex LaVilla. He can be contacted via Swanson's Nursery....See Morefloral_uk z.8/9 SW UK
