Let's have some tablescape fun
Comments (13)Glad you liked it. Saw the beach gal in a mag. She was really small and on the front of a basket. I thought, I think I'll make a bigger one and set her on a table. Judith, thank you. That is high praise coming from the "teacher". Can't wait for you to catch up in your yard so you can show us more of your pretty dishes. Sandi, I tend to stick things away on a shelf or in a drawer when I don't know what else to do with them. When I pulled these out, I thought Yahoo! I knew they would be good for a second color with my other blue plates and the placemats had both light and dark blue in them. Great when things just fall into place like that. Kathleen, I am so glad you got it to enlarge for you. No fun squinting at pics that are too small. I have seen some really great shell balls at Marshall's and Home Goods, but I just made these myself. Already had all the supplies on hand. And you are right--I took advantage of the DP being gone to have some play time. LOL Luvs...See MoreHad to have some Thanksgiving crafts fun!
Comments (8)Thanks for looking and all your sweet comments. I actually think the grownups enjoyed the turkeys as much as little GD did--especially when they discovered there was candy inside! LOL I want my GD to think it's fun to come to Gma's house. Jane, I need new ideas for little things to entertain her, she's already hooked on computer games and it's really hard to compete with that! LOL Luckily, I have two dogs she loves to play with and share her food with, so that helps keep her busy. ;o) I have to tell all of you that while holidays are so fun and such special times with family--I was wiped out last night and today! And then I read Ms. Karen's post on how she's already getting all her Fall decorations put away! Can I just tell you how much I am dreading all that work???? Karen, would you wanna come do mine too? Oh, that's right, I'm supposed to be the energetic, healthy one! You sure do put me to shame, gal. LOL Love you all. Luvs...See MoreHoly moly...prettiest leaf I have seen on pub. RHP! And some photo fun
Comments (15)Where did you get that interesting splashy one the you say is a cross with 'RHP'? I WANT one of those! It's a beauty. They all are, of course, but that one really jumped at me... 'RHP' does produce some interesting growth in high light. Here's a leaf I took a photo several years ago, the first time mine had the deep colored growth... I find leaf anomalies interesting. Here are a few I've photographed over the years. H. aff. annulata (which I don't grow anymore - never did figure out what did this...) Kerrii with a super-deep cleft (official name - obcordate) leaf for a big heart - appropriate for Valentine's Day! A weird new leaf on revoluta, makes me think of the annulata... Turned green as it matured. Go figure! I thought maybe it was going to spontaneously become variegated, but no such luck! Comments (49)The "puffy sofas" are not very attractive to a certain demographic. There are countless people who would love to own one, and in fact do own one (or more). I'm not one of them, but I've BEEN one of them, as I had a sofa and loveseat in that style, complete with cupholders, flip-up armrests that revealed secret compartments, and reclining end pieces. I remember when those things were delivered, and I felt like I'd hit the jackpot. I've just returned from spending a couple of weeks in a cozy mountain cabin where there were a number of things I'd not necessarily want in my own home, but which nevertheless charmed me thoroughly during my stay. Taxidermied heads. Grandfatherly recliners. Faux greenery here and there. As I sat in one of those recliners one evening late in our stay, with the gas fireplace warming me and my knitting on my lap, I was suddenly very aware of a feeling of complete peace, as though there were nothing in this world that I wanted or needed at that very moment. I was in a room that would not earn high marks for sophisticated or designer decor, but by golly, it was one of the best little rooms I've ever sat in ... and I think that says it all....See Morecawaps
