Rocks in flower pots & Online store
Comments (12)Toni you've gotten Fred to respond online?!!!!!! I remember the first time I ordered from them it turns out that one of my selections was unavailable. I didn't know this until I received my plants with a $5 bill and some change in the bottom of the box. lol I try to go to Pepper's when I go to the beach in the summer. Pepper's is only about 2 hours away from here. When I'm there everyone is super nice and helpful but I've never been able to get them to respond to an email. The last time I stoped by on the way home from the beach I managed to get 60 plants in my van. It was quite an accomplishment with all the luggage. lol Gardino's was amazing!!!!! Sid and Andrea were wonderful and spent so much time showing me around. When I called to ask if I could come by I wasn't expecting them to take me thru all of their shade houses but I was thrilled that they did. They have so much that isn't listed on their site. I picked up a few plants and would have gotten more if I'd had another empty suitcase. Hoya retusa Hoya imperialis Hoya macrophylla variegata Hydinophytum formacarium Vietnamese gardenia Burbidge nitida Pseudobombax ellipticum (pink grafted) Strophanths gratis Griffinia sp. Hippeastrum reticulatum striatifolium Gardenia carinata Gloxinia chic For the most part I tried to get stuff in 4" pots but did get a few gallon size containers. I just recently began collecting hoyas again and what a selection they had! I wish that I'd bought more varieties but there were too many other things that I just had to have : ) I've been buying from Gardino's for years and never realized that they were in Delray. It's only about 15 minutes away from my Mom's place in West Palm and I'm there fairly often during the winter. BTW I don't think that I'd be drilling holes in antique containers either. You could always try setting a pot in one and seeing how it does. Just remember that the interior of your container will become discolored and you probably won't be able to get it clean if it's a porous material....See MoreStores to find 100% cotton sleeveless shirts? Comments (42)Stopped into a Marshall's on my way to the library today. I hadn't even know it was there. Went through EVERYTHING because I didn't want to miss something. My conclusions: everything commonly available in cotton is either white or blue. Wait! There's a third color! White with blue stripes. I don't normally wear either color. This has been true in every store I've visited, not just Marshall's. I did end up buying a white linen shirt with embroidery at the neckline. It was only $10 on clearance (slightly damaged, but I can fix it easily) . I will wear it a few times and see if I can stand to wear a color that will be filthy by the end of the first day. I can always tea dye it. Probably will. Marshalls had, it seemed, almost everything on clearance. Must be between seasons. But henceforth I will think of that store as the Home of Rayon. I'm sure I would not have noticed that before, if I hadn't been ferreting inside every shirt for the fiber content tag. Wait Wait! I did buy some all-cotton shorty pajamas. They are blue and white. Striped. But I don't have to choose jewelry to match them, and I won't worry about them making my skin look green while I am sleeping. Then I stopped off at a Talbots (which I also didn't know was there) and bought the shirt Lucy mentioned above. The cut is very flattering, with a yoke front and back. The nicest cut of anything I've found so far. Tassel-Tie Chambray Popover Shirt Which is blue. With white embroidery. I asked them to help me find anything else in a sleeveless natural fiber. I was the only one in there, so the 2 staff ladies quite got into the challenge. I tried on the 4 other items, 3 of which were blue, white, or blue and white. The remaining shirt was white with orange embroidery. Sigh. I didn't buy anything else. So far I have not bought anything in any other color. But the Nordstrom order arrives tomorrow....See MoreExchanging an online order item at the store...??
Comments (18)My nearest Macy's has almost no inventory. There's nothing I want to buy, and there IS no stock from which to make an exchange. I can find clothing online, but it shipping is very slow. Much of the time the item isn't as described -- the "all cotton nightgowns" that were cotton *knit* -- or the item is oddly sized. Nov. 29 I ordered four items. One arrived a week later and was OK. A fleece top arrived Dec. 10 and is XS in the shoulders but at least 4" wider than a S in the body. Two other tops never shipped. When I called Dec. 10, I waited 15 minutes for a representative and was told the missing tops would arrive in two days. (Nope.) They said they'd reorder the XS. That hasn't happened, and I now have an email that they want the defective top returned. Fortunately, I had not disposed of this unsaleable top. I was promised a $10 coupon by way of apology; haven't seen that either. This isn't "Christmas rush". IME it's just normal....See MoreOnline stores showing the inventory on their website
Comments (18)I'm glad you wrote your story. It shows the frustration we all have. The online businesses live on narrow margins and have a choice to make concerning customer service. I stay away from Amazon. They wrote a whole manual on how to get their attention when emails and calls don't work. I'm no longer brainwashed by them and their Prime Service which costs more than the products I buy in a year, risk having packages stolen and can get what I need in an hour and be done. Their customer reviews and stars are not reliable. This site is a great place to tell your story and showcase a store who is trying to earn your business the old fashioned way. I love your tenacity. Wish it weren't necessary. Thank you....See Moretheresa21
