Kitchen Appliances Feedback?

So I have read countless reviews and complaints in this forum and all over the internet about appliances so my conundrum continues! What is the most reliable, low maintenance, well performing refrigerator, range and oven in luxury appliances? In the case of reviews it always seems that those who are really dissatisfied or highly satisfied are the loudest reviews but what about the middle and what about months and years down the line? Is it the search for the best appliance or the search for the best customer service? Tell me your stories the Good, the Bad and Ugly. Mostly though I want to know what appliance are you happy with and why? What appliance brand has been reliable or good to work with? What appliances have been nightmares? And GO!

I've been pleased with the following appliances:

Electrolux single electric oven - though I only started using it as my primary oven a couple years ago, it does the job.

Wolf 36" induction cooktop - replaced another cooktop (see below) with this induction and love it -- I also looked at the Miele and might have liked the individual hob timers that the Miele offers, but overall love induction and love the look of the Wolf and the ease of cleaning. After 2+ years of regular use, the unit still looks new.

Bosch integrated dishwasher - had a small issue with the door (owing I think to the weight of the integrated panel - was fixed under warranty) but otherwise love this D/W. It has a long run cycle, but I usually run overnight, so not an issue for me, but something to consider if you run your dishwasher a lot.

Monogram 36" integrated refrigerator - chose this because the price point was a few thousand less than a comparable Sub Zero or Miele and was just looking to keep the food cold - no complaints.

Kitchen aid integrated refrigerator drawers - looked at getting an under-counter beverage refrigerator, but opted for the drawers because at the time most beverage refrigerators only cooled to 38 degrees whereas the drawers will chill to 33. I also liked that I could match the drawers to my cabinets.

I am only slightly pleased with:

Miele Speed Oven - not sure about current speed ovens from Miele, but the one I have (7 years old) has three heating elements -- the bake element/function stopped working (or at least that was what I thought) ... After spending a bunch of $$ trying to get the unit fixed, I gave up. Now I can use the oven for broiling and microwaving (which I prefer to do in my microwave). Before it stopped baking, I loved this appliance! Used it many times a day. Used it as my primary oven most of the time. Can't bring myself to spend the money to replace it with another Miele, so am waiting until I can get some feedback on the Wolf 24" speed oven before deciding what to do. Right. now, it's a very pricey toaster.

I was really not pleased with:

Bertazzoni combo gas/induction cooktop - bought it because I couldn't commit to induction so this seemed like the best of both worlds. Turned out I loved induction and gas...not so much by comparison, so when the induction hobs stopped working, replaced it with Wolf.

I've never used a "luxury" appliance (mine are Bosch, LG, and Frigidaire), but there isn't a single item out there that doesn't have bad reviews and problems. A general rule of thumb is to toss out the top and bottom 10% of ratings and reviews.

I did a major kitchen reno 3.5 years ago, so I can't comment on longevity of the appliances beyond 3.5 years ;) I adore my LG induction range, but it's not a luxury brand.

This is an odd combination of high end and low end appliances. You state that you are not adamant chefs but are spending a massive premium for a dual fuel range to get an electric oven, which makes up almost half your budget. For 99% of people a good gas oven works just as well, much cheaper ,and much cheaper to operate. If getting an American Range the Performer Series is the one to get. And you can upgrade your game room beverage center to Liebherr and get a much quieter fridge as a result. Plus upgrade your dishwashers. If the purpose of the dual fuel is because a self-clean oven is an absolute must I would look at Capital Culinarian. Save over $1k for that Liebherr beverage center or upgraded dishwashers. Plus get a motorized rotisserie in your oven. I love my Liebherr All-Refrigerator. I love my Sharp MW drawer. I would absolutely go to your local VAH dealer and see how you clean the hood. Some people like the newer design and some think it is a major PITA to clean. If looking at low end VAH I would get Best or Kobe. If looking at high end VAH I would get Prestige. There is a laundry forum with experts on those appliances. I don't like LG because of how their customer service deals with recalls and defective machines that should be recalled but are not and their habit of telling customers with problem machines to pound sand. I would look into the new GE RightHeight laundry. Made in the USA and benchmarked to all the currently USA available laundry machines. If you are not comfortable buying first generation appliances and want something more tried and true I would get the equivalent Samsungs.

I have the CD SxS fridge (in Satina) I love it. I've had it about 2 months now, we adore the ice maker in the door, I really can't emphasize enough how great we find this feature and use it a million times a day. I think we are still getting used to maximizing the space in the fridge. . .we've never had a sxs before and I think it takes some getting used to. . . The freezer is a dream to organize though. I would recommend it.

I have a 36" all gas Bertazzoni range with a gas convection oven and 6 burners one of which is a wok burner then I have a double wall oven electric KA both convection a Fridge daire all fridge all freezer columns with the builtin kit and a Bosch DW I run a catering biz form my home so well used appliances. Theya re all 15 yrs old I just had my first service call for any of the appliances it was for my DW which BTW does about 3-8 loads a day. Hopefully that will help you choose your appliances for how you use them, Please never go all one brand IMO no brand makes everything well

Can you support a 10-inch circular duct? Or a large enough rectangular duct to be equivalent in pressure loss to a 10-inch round duct? I can't tell from the drawing where the duct actually is as it follows the "4-inch" wall to the outside. VaH Magic Lung "equivalent CFM" depends on there not being a set of baffles in the hood to degrade conventional blower flow with pressure loss. However, like the conventional blowers, the VaH blower is susceptible, perhaps more so, to other pressure losses. These include the duct length and bend pressure losses, and the pressure loss from imperfect MUA. (Even a screened window has a pressure loss as an MUA source.) 42 x 27 = 1134sq. in. (counting what is likely a control surface and not intake aperture) = 7.9 sq. ft. One would like to achieve 90 CFM/sq. ft. or 710 CFM. If you do a good job on the MUA and the ducting, particularly the turn, your VaH may achieve close to this flow rate. Note that this hood's spec sheet shows that you will need to limit the static pressure loss to about 0.2 inches of water column to meet this actual flow rate. Your HVAC person will need to evaluate whether your actual ducting, along with the performance of your selected MUA system, causes the house to outside differential pressure to stay below this value. MUA is a separate system. It takes outside air from somewhere, such as the roof, and injects it into the kitchen space or some space connected to the kitchen. It will likely require filtering of dust and bugs, and heating. If the household has no combustion appliances that take air from any space connected to the kitchen, then a passive (no blower) design might (!) be adequate. Otherwise, it requires a blower (active MUA) that roughly approximates the hood blower in putting air into the house to replace that which is removed. With the VaH, I would plan on the strong possibility of requiring an 'active' MUA system. Please review a number of MUA threads here, including those in @opaone's links.

I guess it all depends on your budget. We currently have all GE appliances and love them except for being stainless steel. (my husband prefers white). We are currently getting ready to build and I'm still on the fence about what new appliances I want. I love the cafe series but may go with the 36 zline range

I don’t have luxury (I have all KitchenAid, but the Pro line, so maybe close? 😂) I have been super happy with the 36” dual fuel range and the dishwasher. Not a single issue with either, and we’ve had them 9 years now. Dishwasher is quiet aNd gets dishes squeaky clean. Gas stove top is great, and electric oven heats evenly. The fridge is ok, it’s just a CD French door with ice & water inside. Nothing to write home about, but we’ve not had any maintenance issues with it.

We also have a Sharp MW drawer that gets TONS of use and still going strong. Love that thing.
