Paint color that looks good w/Honey Oak Trim
Comments (3)Most people suggest colors in the green family which is nice but I'm a big fan of sunflowers and decided to use a soft yellow instead. We put it in both our kitchen and breakfast area and like it alot! Not only does it give the kitchen and dining area a very warm and cozy feel and it also has a very pretty glow when the sun is shining in! Not to mention it matches our honey oak cabinets perfectly!...See MoreWhich wall color with honey oak floors and trim?
Comments (0)We recently bought a home with beautiful golden, honey oak floors. There is also honey oak trim (and doors) and big golden-y oak beams. We plan to eventually paint the trim white and replace the doors (later down the road), but will keep the honey oak floors and beams. My question is--which wall color do you think would go best with this warm oak color? Benjamin Moore's Edgecomb Gray, or Benjamin Moore's Balboa Mist? Those are my top two right now. Any other suggestions would be welcome! Added: I realize in the photos I attached, the two paint colors look pretty much the same, but I swear they're different! But if you know anything about either of these colors, I'd love input! First is Balboa Mist and second is Edgecomb Gray....See MorePaint color advice for boring brown house with honey oak trim!
Comments (22)You definitely need some color, personally whites, creams and anything in the brown family is drab. Try a matte mossy green, or light olive tone. The lighter greens go well with your trim, add color, and a welcoming feel....See Morepaint to go with honey oak trim
Comments (6)I also suggest one color for walls and ceilings. You can leave the beam as is. The room will feel cozier (not smaller). For paint, a beige or cream. Gray would need a brown undertones. Here is a good article with color suggestions and photos. Paint can be hard, and needs to be seen in your space/light. I always like to get some of the sample boards at SW to paint and see during the day/night. Don't paint directly on walls so you can move around (and color bleeds through). Both BM and SW have "crap paint" (smaller cans, inexpensive paint - you would never use on walls) to buy for exploring....See MoreCelery. Visualization, Rendering images
